I sat in make-up on my phone as Chan and I texted back and forth, making sure we were all ready and weren't too nervous.
"We'll be fine, Kay." Ryan said as he came up behind me and put a hand on either of my shoulders and started to massage them.
"I just don't want to screw this up. If we can do this for more and more groups like this and inspire others of our kind of groups to do it too then I don't want shit going sideways." I said.
"I know." Ryan said as he gave me a hug and we were called down to the stage.
Chan, Lee Know, Changbin and Seungmin all met us there and I smiled as I saw them.
"Thank you so much for doing this for us." Chan yelled to be heard over the pounding music and fans.
"Don't thank us, thank Glass House for giving us the opportunity to do this." Aaliyah said with a smile and Chan giggled. I melted when he did. His giggle is so cute.
"Right. Let's huddle up before we go out." Kent said. "You guys too, come on. It's a good luck thing we do." he explained.
What we had of Stray Kids there with us huddled up and I smiled at everyone. "Alright!" I yelled over the music. "We ready?"
"Yeah!" came the response.
"Then let's go." I said.
"And don't lose yourself." the rest of Dream followed after me before we broke, the light went down and the others and I waited for our song to start on platforms underneath the stage that would push us up.
The lights were blinding and the fans were screaming.
"Alright, who's ready?" Soria asked.
The screaming increased and I smiled.
"Alright. Let's go!" Kyle said and I started to jump to get the crowd hyped up from where I stood.
The stage shook as I jumped up and then, when I jumped down again, broke out from under me the next thing I knew I was underneath the stage.
"Kay?!" Ryan asked. "Kay, are you alright?"
"I'll be fine, just get me out of here." I said.
"Alright." Kent said before he broke off to someone else. "Hey, we need-." and then he cut out.
"What even happened, Kaylie?" Aaliyah asked as she tried to come to me.,
"No no. my foot is stuck. Don't come closer." I said.
"Ok, we're getting someone on their way."
A few minutes later three people were coming my way in order to help me out of the hole that I had literally made for myself and helped me stand up as well as we all could under the stage.
As I tried to set weight down on my foot, pain shot up all the way through my leg and I had to fall in order for it to stop.
"Mrs. Sheer?!" One of them asked.
"My ankle-." I seethed. "Hopefully I didn't break it." I gasped.
Two people got on either side of me and helped me up and we started to move back towards the makeup rooms.
"Kaylie?" I heard an Aussie accent from my side and I looked at Chan from over my shoulder.
"You want to stop?" my one side asked me.
"Not a chance." I said as we kept moving, not stopping until I could sit.
"Kaylie? What happened up there?" Chan asked me as a doctor and a camera followed after them.
"I was hyping up the crowd, you know, as one does, and the stage just gave ou-ouch!" I seethed as the doctor moved my foot gently.
"There's no way you're doing the rest of the show like this." He said.
"But the fans! We had only just started." I protested.
"I don't care. You're not doing the show." The doctor said.
"But I have to go out and tell them. I don't want to just leave like that." I said.
"Mrs. Sheer-."
"Doc." Soria said and he sighed as he nodded.
"You want one of us to go out there with you?" Chan asked.
"Please?" I asked.
Chan pulled me up and swung his arm around me as best as he would allow himself.
"Ready?" He asked me.
"Ryan, you too buddy. Please?" I asked.
Ryan came to my other side and put my arm around his shoulder.
"Ok. Now we can go out there." I said.
The boys took me up the stairs as the fans were chanting for me and someone called us back to use one of the in-stage elevators after I was fitted with a head mouthpiece instead of them giving me a mic.
The crowd cheered and I laughed it off as I looked down.
"You know, you guys are the ones that inspire us. You really are." I said and the crowd threatened to tear the roof off of the building.
"I know that you all saw what happened here tonight." I said as I readjusted myself on Ryan and Chan.
"Sorry boys." I grunted before I addressed the crowd again. "Given what happened, the doctor says that I can't continue the show with the others tonight and I have taken it upon myself to go to the hospital to make sure I haven't broken something." I said.
"I'm really sorry you guys. I wanted to finish the night and I wanted to do it right. But, right now, my main priority is to get my ankle checked out." I said. "I have to go. I'm sorry. Please don't be mad at me." I said as I hung my head and sniffed.
It took me a while to realize what was going on but after Ryan elbowed me and I finally listened.
"They're not gunna leave you, Kaylie." Chan told me and I smiled as I looked back up at the crowd and caught eyes with a little girl in the crowd with either her father, uncle or grandfather. The way she looked at me grabbed at my heart and didn't let go.
"Alright. Let's get you out of here so that we don't make your ankle worse." Ryan said and I nodded as I let him pick me all the way up and Chan opened doors and curtains for us and took me out to the back of the venue to the ambulance that was there for me already. Everyone was waiting for me.
"Kay, we are so sorry that this happened." Changbin said and I waved him off as Ryan stepped into the back of the ambulance with me.
"I'll stay with you and the others will follow behind in vans." Ryan said and I nodded as the nurses in the back of the large truck began to work to get my ankle as stabilized as they could before we got to the hospital.
