Chapter 1

"Boarding plane 59" The speakers blared out across the airport boarding room. "This is going to be fun, I can't wait to see gammy & papa." I said over the screaming of my baby sister Lulu. “That’s us, Tim you better be on your best behavior, no kicking seats, no yelling, and for heaven's sake, leave Lulu alone, you got it."

"But..." mom cut him off giving him the cold eye." Ok." I agreed knowing if I didn't someone would be in trouble, big trouble, hint me.  We boarded the plane laughing all the way there, my father’s loud voice booming over all us, mom laughing sweet but with power, and me staring into space like I didn't care, not knowing this would be the last time I heard my family laugh.

I was sleeping and was rudely awaken by the sound of beeping, “Mayday, mayday we are going down hold on please and don't forget pray to the lord because we’re going to crash!" I breathed deeply hoping I would survive, my little sister bawled at the top of her lungs. I could here praying up in the row before me. I panicked, then it happen so fast I didn't know until all the plane had hit the ground, my world went black.

I awoke by a throbbing in my leg, I heard crying in the distance knowing it was Lulu. "Lulu!" the crying stopped, a small cry answered " Tim!?" I got up stumbling over what I hoped was a rock, knowing what it really was. I found my sister sitting against a pine tree. The plane wing had smashed her leg. I heard another cry "Mommy?" Lulu uttered softly.

We found my mom under a piece, a large piece, of metal I lifted this to find a hole in her chest, we were to late there was no way we could save here. "Come on we have to go Lulu." “But what about mommy?" "She's gone."

We ran across the crash site, my sister crying the whole time. ‘I’m scarred’ I thought. Then we saw pink flamingos, and a small pond with a lot of bright orange gold fish swimming around in the water. We knew it was Gammy and Papa’s house.

I ran with my sister on my back, I reached the house and thumped on the bright green door. An old woman answered “Tim is that you? I haven’t seen you since your tenth birthday. How old are you now?” The old woman said in a light voice. I stumbled back in surprise at how fast the woman was talking. “I… I’m twelve, and you must Anna.” “Yes, yes, but you must call me gammy, come in.”

We walked into a small room painted a faded orange with a flower design, a man stared into the corner as if mystified by the flower case there. I walked over to the man shaking him lightly on the shoulder, he turned his head slowly. “Umm… gammy is he ok?” “Oh Paul stop it, yes he’s fine he’s just messing with you.” “Oh Anna don’t ruin the fun.”

We sat on the couch and told are story gammy stopped me in the middle and asked “How did you and your sister survive?” “I don’t know how I made it, but Lulu here was in her car seat.” gammy covered her mouth “No, no this couldn’t be happening, your too young.” Gammy said in a gasping voice.

“What do you mean?” I said in a very confused voice. “Every 600 years a new ‘sumo’ comes into the family, usually the sumo finds out his power when he is about 16 or 17 years old, but you are only 12 year old… it makes no sense.

“Is that how I survived the plane crash Gammy?” I asked her quietly. There was a very awkward silence going on for a while. “I believe so my boy, the powers give you a super force field.” Gammy said while getting up as she heard Lulu starting to cry.

“Then how did Lulu survive Gammy?” I said very confused. Gammy looked over at Lulu not answering my question. “We need to take you both to the hospital and see if anything is broken, wait how many people do you think were on that plane?”

“About 30 or 40 give or take. Why?”  I said. Gammy walked over to her yellow phone that was hanging on the wall. “We need to call 911 to see if they will check if there are any survivors.”

When Gammy called 911 I could hear a small voice on the phone say “911 what is your emergency.” I think it was a woman from the gentle tone of her voice. “Yes, hello my grandchildren just got in a big plane crash over by highway 237, but they both survived, will you send out a rescuing squad to see if there are any survivors.

“Oh dear, of course we’ll send a team right away, are your children injured?” The cop warily replied. “Yes, a little, were on are way to the hospital now.” She hung up slowly rocking back and forth. “So are we going to the hospital?” I asked knowing the answer. “No, no, there’s no time your training begins now, Lulu on the other hand needs to go. Paul take her.” He stood taking ahold of Lulu, she clang tightly to Papa. They left and my training began.

Chapter 2

Gammy knew I was going to be the 600th year “super sumo”, but she did not know that I was going to be this young when I got my powers. “I have a secret chamber behind the house, we must go but you can’t tell anyone about your powers or the secret chamber, got it?!” She said in a firm, scary voice. “Y… yes Gammy.” I said frightened. “Boy, you need to get rid of that stuttering problem… IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!” Gammy said in a really crazy voice.

We went back to the chamber. It looked like a storm shelter, but it wasn’t. We stepped inside to get to training. All I could see was an elevator with a scanning hand password. “Only the super sumo can unlock the chamber.” She said to me, in a way of telling me to unlock the chamber.

We took the elevator down, it opened slowly, revealing a huge room filled with training equipment. Gammy walked out and grabbed a sword, “Here take this.” I held the sword almost dropping it. “Geez, this things heavy. So what are we doing?” “Training, now hold this.” She threw me a fan I dropped the sword with a loud clang, she turned and laughed. “Sorry.”

“Now take that fan and throw it at me.” “But won’t it hurt you.” “No, just throw.” I threw the fan fast, Gammy ran, flipped, and caught the fan. “But….but…” “Boy that stuttering is going to get the best of you, as for what just happened I trained when I was a bit younger.” “You’re not a sumo” she walked away and turned a corner.

I ran after her, stopping in my tracks. There were white padded walls and the room was empty except for a wooded dummy. Gammy stood next to the dummy, I walked in nervously, “Gammy?” she stared at me hard. “Now, every sumo has a weakness, I’m going to say some things and if you get mad let it out.” “Um, ok”

“You’re stupid!” Gammy yelled at me, I looked at her, she yelled again. “You never pay attention” “I do” “it’s your fault the plane crashed” “No” “it was your fault that your parents died” “No, no, no, no!” I felt something growing inside me pain, anger, strength, it was all there and I loved it. I looked down I was huge, a sort of green loincloth, but I felt no shame. I felt alive. I was a Sumo!

“I feel alive!”…. “I FEEL FREE!!!”  I said, looking at gammy still seeing that she was small. “Now, we just have to see how you can turn back to a boy. Without you hurting any innocent people.”

“Ok, so what is your most favorite thing in the world?” Gammy said. “Chocolate, I love chocolate!!!” I said shrinking a few feet. “It’s delicious.” I said shrinking even more. “I think I have some chocolate in my purse.” Gammy said.  All of a sudden I was a normal boy again.

“Ok, so we know that the cure of you becoming a normal boy is chocolate.” Gammy said gasping for breath. “Gammy what’s wrong?” I said worryingly. “Oh nothing I’m fine.” Gammy said. And suddenly she collapse on the ground, I didn’t know what to do. “GAMMY!!” As soon as I could I took her phone out of her purse and called 911.
