I spring up from my pillow, sweating and breathing heavily. Why the Hell am I getting these dreams so often? I think to myself before reaching over to my bedside to pick up my phone. "3:00 AM..." I grumble quietly to myself before setting my phone back down on my nightstand, trying to go back to sleep. But I couldn't help but think instead, all throughout the night.
I couldn't help myself but to do so. That bag-of-bones dog and all of the tricks up his sleeve keep affecting my dreams. What did he mean? Why was he continuously showing up? Why was he... The thoughts continued on throughout the night- er- morning. I may have ended up talking too loud at one point, because I heard my father leave his room. Wait, no, today was a work day. Of course, my workaholic father would be out the door at 4 AM, but would never have time for his own daughter. But that's alright, I guess, I still have my mother, right? Nope, she's six feet deep under the ground. So it's just me and my dad- no, scratch that- it's just me. Anyway, Hell starts in a few hours, so I should probably get dressed early since I can't go back to sleep.
I put on my favorite black and white-striped shirt, along with my Metallica shirt over it. I slipped on my black skirt with some short-shorts under it (have to be safe, y'know), and some black rubber-toe sneakers. My dad isn't home, he can't control how I dress. He especially can't control how I feel, either. As I'm putting all of my school stuff in my bag, I remember a very important package should be coming in today. My lesbian pride flag. Like I said, Dad isn't around enough to control me, and I decided that I like women. Who the hell cares.
I have a crush on this one girl in my science period. Her name is Agatha, and I can't stop admiring her. She has beautiful, long red hair, sparkling green eyes, and freckles that light up her face every time I see her. She usually wears a Queen hoodie and jeans, a perfect, casual look. She most certainly can rock it. I don't know, she might be straight though, I don't want to fall for another straight girl, not like last ti—
Before I even finished that thought, my alarm on my phone sounded loudly. I grumbled and turned it off before getting ready the test of the way. I walked into the bathroom to apply my eyeliner, finishing the look with my black studs before going to the kitchen to have breakfast. I fixed myself a bowl of Cap'n Crunch and ate quickly before running back to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I still had plenty of time to spend before the bus got here, so I wound down and scrolled through my phone, trying to find some nice content to watch.
Before I knew it, my alarm for the bus went off. I sighed and muted it before grabbing my stuff and heading outside, walking up the steps and nodding at the bus driver before finding my seat. The bus driver gave me a strange look, of course he did, before beginning to drive off to the next destination to pick up children.
I don't like it here, I never liked it here. This is usually the bullying-hotspot for me, it's almost like it never stops. "Freak", "Nobody", "Degenerate", "Disappointment". I've been called all of em. Story of my life, get called names and then leave me here alone,
I'm all lost in my thoughts until I see the bus door opens, and someone boards the bus. Who it is brings me right out of my trance by the collar. Agatha! I think to myself, my eyes widening. I've never seen her here before, her mom usually drives her to school, it's a miracle! Today must be a great day! I guess she caught me staring at her, because she awkwardly waved at me before going to join her friends. She waved at me?? She waved at me! I thought happily in my seat. I think I may have smiled a little, because Jake caught me. Jake has always been a bully to others, he thinks he's so great because he's on the basketball team. Hate to burst your bubble, buddy, but ANYONE can get on the basketball team with some skill.
"What's with the cheeky grin, little freak?" Jake laughed lightly punching my shoulder.
"Nothing, Jake," I grumble, "Leave me alone."
"Aww, what are you going to do, Lola-Bear? Blast metal in my ears and deafen me?" He laughed again before reaching to pinch my cheek.
I immediately slap his hand away from my face, "Don't touch me, imbecile. Thanks for the suggestion, that may be something I'll do to you."
"As if, dork." He sneered, crossing his arms, "You could never hurt someone as athletic as me, I could easily pound your little Google-diagnosed-depression self into the ground!"
"We'll see about that." I tittered before immediately regretting my words. Yikes, I really need to think before I speak. I'm in some deep shit now.
"Oh, really? So you're wanting to challenge me?" He laughed before pressing his hand against the side of my seat. "After school at four o'clock. Middle of Central Park, meet me there." He grumbled with a smirk. "Maybe bring some friends with you, not like you have any, but you'd need the support."
Before I could say anything, the bus driver yelled at Jake to move his arm out of the isle. He gave me one last dirty look before moving his arm and looking out the window. I did the same, hooking my headphones up to my phone and listening to some music before my arrival at school.
