"It wasn't like a first kiss because we knew each other too intimately for that. And it wasn't like a last kiss because we'd only just begun. It was the kiss you spent your whole life waiting for."

~Nicole Williams

"Hello Master Grayson." Alfred greeted Dick when he walked through the manor's door. He was dusting the furniture.

"Hey Alfred." He walked past the twin sets of couches and him towards the stairs.

"You have a visitor, Master Grayson. She is waiting in your room." Dick stopped at the base of the stairs. She? He didn't conversate with any girls except for Barbara and those from the Team. Barbara was at a police convention with her father and none of the girls on the Team knew of his identity except...

A goofy smile broke out across his face and he raced up the stairs.

Alfred sighed and continued dusting, "They grow up so fast."

When he reached his room Zatanna was sitting on his bed eating strawberries with a chocolate dip beside her. SHe was watching a news segment on his TV.

"Where did you get strawberries from?" He dropped his backpack beside his lamp and sat beside her on the bed.

"There was some chocolate at the Cave and I bought the strawberries on the way here. I let the chocolate melt on it's own," she said this as she dipped one of the strawberries in the chocolate and bit into it. Some of the chocolate smeared on the corner of her mouth.

She grabbed another from the carton and held it out towards him. "Want one?"

He smiled and accepted the strawberry. He dipped it on the chocolate dip and watched the news with her.

"Artemis and Wally went on their first date today." He knows. The red-head had called him and kept him on the phone for hours asking for advice on how to woo Arty. He's never seen him this high-strung about a girl before. He must really be serious.

"Really? How did it go?"

"She said she enjoyed it. He was a real gentleman. Which was a shocking word to use for Kid Mouth. Her words, not mine."

He chuckled. "He may not act like it sometimes, but he isn't the player he acts like."

"Do you think they'll last?"

"I think they will. They're already gotten their bickering out of the way."

"Do you think we will?" She had dipped another strawberry into the chocolate and was biting off the tip. Her eyes were glued to the new segments.

"Where did this come from?" It was an out of the blue question. She usually asked out of the blue questions when she felt insecure or self -conscious of herself.

"There's no reason. The question just came to mind." She refused to look his way so he knew she was lying. Something had happened, but she refused to him. And he was okay with that. There was still some stuff he didn't want to tell anyone. He also knew that actions spoke louder than words.

So she bit off another chocolate covered strawberry and he covered her mouth with his. The strawberry fell out of her hand as she slid her hand into his hair and tugged on his roots. With the taste of chocolate and strawberries on their tongues, they kissed with the promise of tomorrow.
