Chapter 42: You Didn't Have Too

as the sun rises the lights have gone through the blinds... Roni opens her eyes but quickly shuts them adjusting her eyes from the blinding light. 

She stood up and went straight into the bathroom she notices a pile of clothes with a note on top

She sets down the note and took a shower... she then went to check up on Athena but no one was in there so she went down the stairs and went into the kitchen 

"Morning" Lauren greeted her with a smile she smiled back 

"Where's Nessa?" Roni asked sitting down the chair 

"Nessa and Marco went grocery shopping with Mavi" Alex replied whipping some pancake batter 

"How about... Athena?" Roni asked 

"Well they are in the backyard... can you serve them these pancakes?" Lauren said and hands her a tray with 3 plates of breakfast

"I don't want Alex to burn down my kitchen" Lauren added 

"Hey, I won't do that! I am a good cook" Alex said he furrowed his eyebrows 

"Yeah just keep whipping the batter," Lauren said and places glasses of water  on the tray 

"I'll go now... thank you" Roni smiled then went into the backyard 

the door opens Roni sets down the food at the picnic table she then looks up to see Aaron lifting Athena up into the sky 

"Superman!!!" Aaron says still lifting Athene in the air 

"Uncle Aaron I'm no superman I'm Super Athena!" She said 

"Ah sorry sorry Super Athena!" He said and continue playing with Athena

Roni admires Aaron and her daughter playing... she went up to them 

"Hey, baby did you have fun playing with Uncle Aaron?" Roni asked Athena gazes her mother and she smiled brightly 

"Mommy!!!!" Athena said Aaron puts Athena down Athena hugs her mother 

"You want some breakfast baby?" Roni kneeled down and asks her daughter she nods 
"You can go to the table baby there is some food you can go ahead" Roni added Athena smiles and rushes to the table 

"She must be really hungry" Aaron commented Roni stood up and wipes off the dirt from her pants 

"Yeah..." Roni said and looked at Aaron "Thanks by the way..." Roni said 

"For what?" Aaron said and he furrowed his eyebrows

"Last night... thank you really," Roni said and smiled 

Aaron let out a little chuckle "It's no biggie... let's eat up I'm quite hungry too I didn't know playing with Athena can drain your energy" Aaron commented 

"Well, kids are kids after all..." Roni said she then looked at Aaron and pulls out a towel and wipes the falling sweat he was taken back by what she did to him 

"There you go... let's eat?" Roni said and takes away the towel from his face 

"Y-yeah let's eat" Aaron smiled they went to Athena who was giggling

"Is Aaron blushing?" Lauren said Alex rushes to Lauren 

"Oh my god, he is!!!! my brother is blushing!" He says, Lauren laughs at Alex's reaction 

"They look so good together... one small family," Lauren said 

"Well... we can make our own family?" Alex blurted  out Lauen turns around facing Alex and it's him on his shoulder 

"Alex! it's too early!" Lauren said 

"Well... the offer still stands don't you wanna make a family with me?" Alex asked 

Lauren puts her hands around his neck and tilted her head a bit "Of course I'd love that" she replied and leaned in for a kiss

"Should we go to the park?" Aaron asked 

"Yeah sure" Roni smiled 

"Mommy, uncle let's go to the bike park!" Athena said 

"Sure sure" Aaron smiled 

they went into the car bid goodbyes and left to go to a bike park thing yeah.

"YOU FUCKING!!!" Collins said and slapped the guy 

yes, he slapped the guy. 

"Oh shut the fuck up Collins! you messed up! it's your fault!" The guy said 

"It's your fault" He pointed his Deseret eagle 

*bang bang* 

Collin's men stop Collin from shooting his poor Henchman

"Boss that's enough." One of his guys said he threw his dessert eagle and runs his hand on his hair 

"Find Roni and Athena now! THAT'S A FUCKING COMMAND!" He yells his men nods but then he told them something that made them think if it's worth it working for him

"Mess up and you'll and up like him." He told them before fixing his blazer and left on the other side

"mommy I want ice cream," Athena said she nods and ordered ice cream... as Roni was about to pay Aaron paid the lady and took the ice cream and hand it to Athena ad Roni they went at an empty bench

"Mommy I'm gonna sit at the swing! can I?" Athena said Roni nods 

"Just don't go too far ok? me and uncle we'll be here by the bench ok" Roni advised her daughter, Athena looked at Aaron and he smiled. 

and just like that, she ent to the swing while eating her cup of ice cream Roni stood up wiping the dirt n her knees

"You know you didn't have to that," Roni said as they walk to the empty bench 

"Didn't have to do what?" Aaron asked 

Roni sits down on the far right side as Aaron sat on the left side leaning on the backrest of the bench 

"You didn't have to pay for the ice cream, Aaron... it was my thanks for taking care of Athena." Roni said 

"I have too. she's my daughter after all right?" Aaron replied 

Roni's pov 
Right... our daughter... I'm taking this little by little. Aaron. I don't know how Athena would react if she found out Collins is someone who she thought he really is. I love my daughter Aaron... just don't push it. I care about my daughter's being. 
  
end of pov

"Roni? you there?" Aaron asked Roni immediately nod

"Sorry... just thinking about somethings," Roni said 

"So how's your job being... a store clerk?" Aaron asked 

She quitted her job as a news reporter after she left Collins. she eventually got a job at this market which is 20 minutes away... and thank god her boss allowed her to take a couple of days off.

"Yeah... it pays well." Roni replied 

just then they heard a little girl scream Roni dropped her ice cream while Aaron looks at the swing.

It was Athena getting abducted by men 

"ATHENA!!!" Roni said and run towards her daughter Aaron throws his ice cream and sprints just then the guy points a gun making the two halt at their movements 

"Come anymore fucking close I'll blow this kid's head off!" the guy said 

"hey man let's just talk the kid doesn't have to do anything with this just let her go" Aaron said raising his hands 

"no you don't understand!" He shouted he pointed the gun at the sky and started to fire bullets 

Screams were heard from everywhere. 

As the guy was pointing at the sky not focusing on the two Aaron mouthed something to Athena 

"Athena step on his feet" Aaron mouthed and Athena nods 

Aaron raises his hand 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, he then held a fist Athena stomp on his feet which made the guy scream in pain Aaron rushed to the guy and punches him at the neck and then the rip cage. Athena rushes to Roni 

"GO!" Aaron yelled as he held on the guy's arm. he uses his elbow on the guy's arm making the gun drop he kicked it off then suddenly the guy pulls out a knife Aaron dodges every attack that the guy did 

"RONI GO!" He yelled just then the guy punched him on the face he fought back but he got pinned onto the ground he kicked his groin area then the guy screamed in pain making him fall down Aaron took the chance and takes the rock beside him and hitter the guy with the rock 

he turned Aaron to look at Roni and Athea. Athena holding her mother tight 

"I'll call the police let's go" Aaron said as he threw the rock on the ground then he started walking towards Roni and Athena. 

They suddenly stopped when they heard a loud thud.
