(Y/n) exits the apartment building not realizing that she was being watched by Max's men, she had no reason to think that she was being watched, she walks down the street to her closest supermarket, she needed to restock her fridge, get laundry detergent, toilet paper and pads.

Once she arrives at the market she takes a cart and enters the shop, she pushes her hand into her jacket's pocket fishing for her list, she pulls it out and unfolds it, she walks towards the milk products and placed a carton of milk in the cart, she then got a bottle of drinking yoghurt before looking down at the list.

"Fancy seeing you here," Max says, (Y/n) looks up from her list and saw Max standing in front of her cart, she gives him a soft smile.

"Uh, yeah," (Y/n) says. "I uh need to stock my fridge and get some personal items." Max nods his head. "So um, are you stalking me or something?" (Y/n) jokingly says, but Max stiffens which went unnoticed by (Y/n) as she stared at something on the shelves.

"No, I uh was just in the neighbourhood," Max says, (Y/n) nods her head and pushes her cart around him, he follows her to the isle.

"All right, well, I have worked at the midnight café for almost a year now, and I've never seen you there," (Y/n) says, she was suspicious, she had never seen him before in her life and after one night at his casino, he was everywhere, had she just not noticed him?

"I will admit, I may have asked around about you," Max says. "But I've heard good things about the midnight café, and thought why not give it a try, hoping that you would be working." (Y/n) reaches up for a box of cereal, Max could see her struggling to reach it. "Here, let me." Max reaches over her, taking the box down from the shelf, his front barely rubbing against her back, (Y/n) turns around only to see how close Max had been to her. "Is this the one?" (Y/n) nods her head, her eyes widen in shock.

"Um, yeah," (Y/n) says, Max placed the box into the cart before they walked down the aisle towards coffees and teas. "So uh, you just got lucky Sunday afternoon, huh?"

"I took a chance," Max says. "And I got lucky." (Y/n) relaxes a little but remained on alert.

"Okay, and what about today?" (Y/n) asks. "Just a random coincidence?" He was the biggest coldest Mafia boss in the Netherlands, nothing scared him and nothing made him nervous, or, so he thought, he was nervous around her, and he had no idea why.

"Just a random coincidence," Max says. "I was passing through the neighbourhood when I got thirsty, and this just so happen to be the first place I saw and decided to stop to come and buy myself a bottle of water." (Y/n) nods her head, she wasn't sure if she should believe him or not, but he hadn't given her any reason as to why she shouldn't trust him.

"All right," (Y/n) says, they walk through the isle's, (Y/n) putting something in the cart as they walked through the isle.

"But I am very glad that I've run into you again," Max says, (Y/n) stops by the freezes and takes out a bag of frozen vegetables.

"Oh, and why is that?" (Y/n) asks.

"Well, this might seem very forward, but I would like to take you out," Max says, (Y/n) looks up at him.

"Take me out? Like on a date?" (Y/n) asks, Max pushes his hands into his pockets as they walk towards the toilet paper.

"Yeah, like a date," Max says. "I would like to take you out on a date, only if you're all right with it though." (Y/n) picks up a toilet paper pack and puts it in her cart. "Tonight, if you're able to." They walk a little forward before (Y/n) stops the cart.

"And where would you take me if I said yes?" (Y/n) asks.

"La Pierre De Lune," Max says, La Pierre De Lune was an expensive restaurant that catered to only the rich, because only rich people could afford to eat at the place, (Y/n)'s eyes widen hearing the name.

"La Pierre De Lune?" (Y/n) asks, Max nods his head. "Isn't that place super expensive?"

"They are, but I believe that you're every penny worth it," Max says, (Y/n) was shocked, he would take her to an expensive restaurant, not expecting her to pay for anything herself. "What do you say?"

"I um, are you sure?" (Y/n) asks. "I mean, they are extremely expensive, Max."

"I'm sure," Max says, (Y/n) nods her head as she gnaws on her bottom lip, not realizing how it made Max feel seeing her bite her lip.

"All right, all right," (Y/n) says. "But I want the cheapest thing on the menu."

"No, I insist that you get something that looks delicious for you, even if it's the most expensive thing in that restaurant," Max says, (Y/n) softly chuckles.

"Do you want me to feel guilty? Because I already feel guilty about choosing the cheapest thing on the list." (Y/n) says, Max takes his hands out from his pockets and placed them on her shoulders.

"(Y/n), I'm taking you out on a date, I want you to be comfortable, I want you to enjoy the night," Max says. "I don't want you to worry about my wallet crying, and if you had forgotten, I own a casino." Max listed every business he owned off in his head, but he would tell her about all of them once he was sure he could trust her.

"Okay." (Y/n) softly says, her warm brown eyes staring back into his blue eyes. "Okay." Max nods his head and takes his hands off her shoulders.

"All right, great," Max says. "How does five-thirty sound?"

"That sounds perfect," (Y/n) says. "I live at the apartment building at Berry Route, the one on the corner." Max nods his head.

"All right," Max says.

"Now, um... can you maybe step aside?" (Y/n) asks, Max looks at her confused, she points behind him causing him to look over his shoulder.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Max says, he steps aside as (Y/n) picks up a package of pads and tampons.

"Sorry? I thought you'd run when you saw these." (Y/n) says as she placed them in the cart.

"Kids run, men would go out and buy them if their woman needed it," Max says.

"Oh, now I'm definitely going to feel guilty about tonight," (Y/n) says. "'Cause you're one of the rare ones, the proper men." If only (Y/n) knew what he really did then she wouldn't be saying that.

"So I earned some points?" Max jokingly asks.

"Oh, you definitely earned points," (Y/n) says. "So um, we should probably exchange numbers if you're going to take me out on a date tonight." (Y/n) takes out her phone.

"I haven't asked for your number? Rude of me." Max says, (Y/n) giggles as she opens her contacts and taps on 'create a new contact', she hands him her phone, and he enters his number, entering his name as well and tapping save, he gives her phone back to her.

"I will send you a text as soon as I get home so you'll have my number as well," (Y/n) says, she didn't realize that he already did have her number.

"Sounds like a plan, so I'll see you tonight?" Max says, (Y/n) nods her head.

"See you tonight," (Y/n) says, Max gives her a smile before walking out of the store without buying a bottle of water.
