SYNOPSIS:
After his parent's divorce, Ody Winter is sent to live in New York City with his mother-- leaving behind the countryside his mother, his father, his sister Penny, and he had spent years living in. However, two years after his mother and he moved out, word reaches their ear that the botanist Devlin Jax Winter, Ody's father, has died from a mysterious suicide incident. After Ody finds this out, he is sent to go to his father's funeral in Cazenovia, NY where he discovers a note his father left which discredits everything Ody knew about the man. With his sister Penny, Ody sets off to discover the truth of his father's job as a botanist. Hidden by the military, government, and certain scientists, Ody and his sister do their best to find the truth of The Post Sunday Experiment Devlin was involved in.YES, this book has a plot and I know where it's going. It is not an endless television-show-like book but instead a novel.

Ody Winter (PROTAGONIST):
~~~~~ Ody is a tall, skinny, fifteen-year-old boy with black hair that hangs in front of his eyes. He enjoys listening to music too loud and studying science. He is particularly exceptional at remembering little details but is terrible at admitting defeat. He is stubborn beyond reason and can hold grudges for ages.Penny Winter:
~~~~~ Penny--Ody's younger sister-- is a tall, chubby, twelve-year-old girl with long braids and her own unique style. Penny enjoys designing and sewing her own outfits and gardening. She is great at listening to other people and giving advice yet lacking when it comes to fitting in. She struggles with keeping secrets and blending into the crowd.Mae Winter:
~~~~~ Mae is Ody and Penny's pretty, blue-eyed mother who works as an editor at a newspaper company in New York City. She is great at pulling herself together and pushing through sad and broken times but is not great at handling stress herself.Eric Bhurr
~~~~~ Eric is the single, African American, educated nerd with short hair and crooked glasses who worked with Devlin, Mae's ex-husband, and came over for homecooked meals years before Devlin and Mae split up. Devlin was a very playful or quirky man who is great at dealing with kids.~~~
