"Master Shiro, it's time to wake up." A maid knocked on the door as Shiro slowly stood up from his bed. "I have prepared the bath."

"Sure, thanks." He said groggily, changing clothes for the day.

It's been a year since he's known the truth and he now lives in the Holy Gardens. Shiro still kept in touch with the Kamados and sometimes he visited the Agatsuma brothers in their state.

He now knew everything about his past. How three of his uncles were killed during the calamity as well. All because they had their blood. All because they were born in a family that was a threat to the demon king.

Shiro was turning 15 today. His date of birth; May 8, also happens to be his mother's own death anniversary. After running away from his old home to look for answers, he never returned, leaving their home but Michikatsu made a few servants move his stuff in the Holy Gardens to keep. Shiro kept a picture of his mother on his nightstand and a locket that his mother wore all the time, inside was a letter.

He didn't bother reading the letter knowing that it was from his demon father.

And today, May 8, marks the day of the demon king's death. An appropriate day if he says so himself. The same day that the demon king's curse killed his mother. But as much as he wanted that, he knew it was impossible to kill that man in one night.

"Are you sure that you're ready?" Yoriichi asked in worry. He, along with Michikatsu accompanied him to the border as close as they could, they cannot come and go as they please, especially with their position.

"I'm ready, uncle." Shiro nodded, pulling the hood over his head. "I'll make sure that that king is stripped off his throne."

"Then what will you do?" Michikatsu asked, gripping his shoulders tightly. "Don't forget, you are also an heir to the demon clan."

Shiro stayed silent. "Then..." He paused giving a smile to his uncles. "I'll just have to destroy the whole clan, don't I?"

The twins frowned at his words. They knew that this was not a good idea, yet they still compiled because they too, wanted revenge for the killer of their precious cousin. They wanted revenge on the person who used her heart and destroyed it afterwards.

Before they knew it, Shiro was already out of their sights as they made their way back to the capital.

The land was big and it was divided into two territories. On the south was the human kingdom and on the north was the demon kingdom. The two kingdoms were divided by mountains, ravines, and cliffs.

And Shiro's destination was the demon's capital where the castle was. Where the demon king was. Where his father was. The capital was at the top, quite far from the border.

Shiro stayed below a tree, looking for a way to climb the rocky and steep mountain. He could use teleportation magic but he would be caught as the borders were guarded on both sides.

Shiro used wind magic as black wind appeared below his feet, helping him up the steep mountain. He climbed and climbed until he made it to the top, nearly out of breath he glanced at the other side. It was already night time, he didn't know how long it took him to climb but he knew it was a long time.

On the other side of the mountain looked like a city. It was very colorful, mostly red and in the middle of the city, there was something that looked like a flower, bright red lights all over.

He looked at the ground of the tall mountain and basically saw no one. He's managed to use his demon powers much better now. His hearing was better and his sight as well.

He quietly sledded down the steep and rocky mountain, his hands bleeding but healing almost instantly. His demon blood was fully awake now. He didn't know how, but he assumed it was because he fully accepted his blood and his body didn't reject the fast regeneration.

Once he landed on the demon's land, he knew that there would be someone after him, he was still human, despite having a demon's blood. The demons could smell him, his human part and he needed to conceal it the best way he can. Shiro hid when he heard voices coming over. He was in between rocks as he listened in as to who these people were.

"-ly, he really needs to go out sometimes!" A male exclaimed. Shiro peeked out a little and saw a guy with white hair and red glowing eyes in the dark. "I invited him so many times too! Man, he's too cooped up in that castle of his!"

"Tengen, you know his majesty is..." A woman with dark hair tied into a ponytail trailed off, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Right, sorry about that, Hinatsuru." Tengen, as the woman said, sighed as he looked around. "Looks like it was just a false alarm. Thought there was another human who tried to sneak in."

"Well, it's good that there's no human, it's better that way. I don't think his majesty will be merciful this time..." Hinatsuru took Tengen's arm as they walked away. "Let's head back. Suma and Makio must be worried."

"Okay! I'll make you three a feast tonight!" Tengen exclaimed, scooping up the woman into his arms and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "My girls deserve only the best!"

"Oh my god!" Shiro whispered as he let out the breath he didn't know he was holding. He crawled out of his hiding place, hating the fact that he was such a giant child. "That's so close... I almost got caught!" He plopped on the ground, looking at the sky that he loved. 'His majesty? Isn't that the king. So he's always in his castle.... That should be easy...'

He sat up straight, taking a map from his bag and laid them on the ground. "Shine..." He muttered and a small light came out of his hand as he looked at the map. He learned light magic as it's rooted from holy magic and it was easy for him to learn. "Northwest... it's the closest region to the capital... but..." He sighs. "It's also the biggest population of demons..."

"Oh fuck it." He said as he stood up, hiding his map back in his bag as he began his very long trip to the region in the northwest. "Ah." He paused, remembering a certain word his mother always told him. "I look like that goddam deadbeat." He chuckled darkly and used magic to change his appearance; (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes. "I'll come get you soon, old man."

"Oh man..." Shiro heaved for air as he stopped his running and wiped the sweat building up on his face. "Oh man- I haven't ran that fast since uncle Yoriichi made me race with the Agatsumas..."

It was already sunrise and he's been running for hours upon hours and he managed to cross the city gates without anyone spotting him, that's because he went through the forest where there were barely any demons there.

Shiro's stomach grumbled as he used a tree for support. He was hungry. He hasn't eaten in nearly two days. He would say that he's fine but he was not. He lived in the Holy Gardens for a whole year where he was treated like a king, his meal was prepared, his bath was ready and he didn't need to lift a finger to get what he wanted.

"I'm hungry..." He whined, looking for anything to eat. "I should've listened to Tanjiro's letter and taken something to eat with me..." He was shaking to the bone. "I need food... food... mama... I want foo- huh?"

'I must be hallucinating...' He thought. He scoffed, closing his eyes and opening them again. "Oh shit. It's real." He said out loud, pointing to the thing that had a boar head, wearing pants and no top. "Well, I'm gonna die tonight."

He fainted.
