Run!.....run!!...run Skylar! The last warning was enough to get Skylar moving. She had no idea why she was running or what she was running from. The entire place was pitch black and she had no idea where she was or where she was running to. She tripped and fell with a loud thud. Her muscles screamed in pain and she only hoped she hadn't broken anything.
"Haha....Hahahaha! Hahahaha! Where do you think you're going baby girl." The laughter made her shiver. "D-dad??? " "Come to daddy Sky".
Sky's heart beat got faster and she could hear it ring loudly in her ears. Her body trembling in fear."No sky..... Run! " Sky turned her head around, frantically trying to find the source of her mother's voice. "Mum! Mummy! Dónde estás!" she yelled desperately. "Run Sky don't let him get you!" Sky screamed when she saw her dad approaching with a dagger stained with blood.
She got up and run as fast as her legs could carry but her body felt like it was being weighed down by a ton of bricks. She tried to run faster but it almost seemed impossible to do so.
A cabin came into view and she reached it as fast as she could, wasting no time to open the old brown door and lock it. She turned around and her whole body froze as she stared at her mum sprawled on the floor, her dad on top of her, the same dagger close to her mums neck.
"Run Skylar...",her mum forced out, her voice trembling with defeat and agony but no traces of fear. "No... No... No.. No-no no.. "Skylar murmured while vigorously shaking her head. She tried to move.... She tried so freaking hard but she couldn't....she just couldn't and she screamed in pain and anger.
"Skylar!....Skylar! Wake up". I opened my eyes, blinking a couple of times trying to adjust to the light in the room. Who thought it was wise to open the damn curtains."You're late for school again....its your first day this semester Skylar for crying out loud".
No not this again! I groaned staring at her for a few seconds trying so hard not to scream. To be honest I prefer going back to sleep and having another nightmare than to face this nuisance.....okay that's an exaggerated lie but no one needs to know that.
I covered myself with the blanket again and snuck deep into the warm embrace of my bed. It didn't take long for the blanket to be pulled away. "Having nightmares again? " she asked while staring at something on the bed. I looked at what she was staring at and sighed when I noticed my pillow case and some parts of the sheets soaked with sweat. "None of your damn business!",I grumbled and closed my eyes again.
"Skylar! " "Bloody hell fine! I'm up" I got up and reluctantly dragged myself into the bathroom. I was really not a morning person. Especially when I was able to have at least some minutes of sleep. Having Ellen and Brian as adoptive parents is terribly annoying but at least it's better than the orphanage.
"Sky... " she called out while knocking on my door. "Skylar not sky...."I responded the corrections becoming annoying now. What's up with people always trying to shorten the damn name. Isn't it bloody short enough.
"Sorry....Brian will be giving you a ride so hurry up".I opened the bathroom door and looked at her. "I'm taking my bike"
"You're not ridding that thing Sky-lar. Not after what happened during summer. You're still grounded" I murmured swear words in Spanish which earned a hard glare from the short woman."How many times have I told you not to speak Spanish in my presence "she said angrily. "How many times have I told you not to order me around... I guess we're both not getting what we want." I closed the bathroom door and began with my morning routine.
I groaned with frustration when I couldn't find the keys to my baby anywhere. "Looking for these?" I turned around and saw none other than Brian with a silly grin holding the keys. I counted to ten slowly, trying to calm myself down. I'm too tired for this sh*t. I stormed out towards his car and sat in the front seat banging the door hard in the process. "Hey take it easy with the Door" Brian said getting in.
