━━━━━━  SUMMARY

CLEMENTINE ADAIR WAS IN OVER HER HEAD. The young girl had become a master of suppressing her emotions and keeping those in her life at arms length away. She had spent the entirety of her 16 years blaming her estranged family and nothing short of an odd upbringing for her inability to feel anything deeper than than an occasional, yet ultimately fleeting, interest in her peers. The young blonde had ignored by numerous family members starting at the ripe age of eleven, leaving the girl with no sense of stability or security in her life as she tried settled into the home of her aunt and uncle. A dead father and a missing mother might come with some familial baggage. As a result, Clementine had yet to find a person that she would admit to actually caring about. Not one person in her life seemed to be able to make a dent in the insurmountable exterior that surrounded the elusive Adair.

Clementine had truly cared for her parents, but that was long ruined. The only thing of substance that the girl had to cling to from her past was a letter that outlined the innocence of her mother's cousin; a man she had grown up hearing plenty about from family and newspapers alike. Conflicted, the girl must navigate how to feel about the prison break of her family member while being dragged into the shenanigans of the seemingly perfect Hufflepuff prefect who just so happened to be failing her favorite class.

Soon enough Clementine could feel all the hard work that went into building her walls threaten to crumble down as the boy she was quickly growing acquainted to insisted in helping her delve into the mysterious circumstances that surrounded her family. The careless attitude and flawlessly aloof persona was starting to crack around the edges much to the girl's dismay, all thanks to the incessant presence of Hufflepuff's golden boy.
