The Third Day

As the sun rose once more to begin the third day of spring and the third day of school at Arazashi Academy, the bright rays shined through the blinds of your room as your phone alarm sounded and you groaned while reaching over to your nightstand and tapping it a few times til it went silent. Rising up from your bed and tossing your blanket to the side of your bed, you turned and stood up from bed as you grabbed your phone before heading out of your room in just a black shirt and your boxer briefs. Once you entered your living space and walked over to your cupboards in your small kitchen, you opened the middle cupboard and pulled out your thermos and an opened bag of coffee grinds. Preparing your coffee in the small coffee maker you had and waiting for that to finish, you walked over to your front door before putting on some sandals and walking out to get your news daily newspaper. As you walked out however, you felt the strange feeling that someone was staring at you and looked up to see your neighbor from three doors down, an old little lady who wore a dark green sleeping gown with long sleeves and a night cap. She stared at you plainly as you just waved and she waved back at you before the two of you returned to your homes, closing the doors calmly.

"...Dammit, she saw me again." You groaned as you took off your sandals and walked back inside.

After taking your freshly brewed coffee and pouring it into your thermos, you opened your fridge to grab your bento only to find that you forgot to make one.

"Shit..." You muttered as you rubbed the top of your head in frustration and looked up at a clock on the wall to your left to see it was 7:00 A.M. already. "...No time..." You said as you shut the door of your fridge and walked back to your room to get ready for the day.

After getting ready and grabbing your bag as you slung it over your head and hung it on your left shoulder while the bag was hugged to your right side, you were walking for about 10 minutes to the train station and fixing up your tie as you turned one last corner and saw the station ahead. Climbing a few steps to get onto the platform you looked around and saw only a few people, less than ten, were waiting for the morning train to arrive. Standing behind the yellow line of the platform you pulled a pack of cigarettes out from the small pocket on your shirt. Lightning up and putting the pack away, you reached up and grabbed the base of the smoking wad of paper filled with nicotine, taking it away from your lips and puffing some smoke as a breeze blew it to your left. On the same arm you looked down at your wrist to check the time quickly before putting the cigarette back in your lips and lowering your hand.

"Any minute now..." You muttered while puffing smoke out of one end of your lips while the cigarette was held in the other end.

As you waited, you heard the sound of laughter approaching as you turned your head to the right and caught sight of two brats you recognized.

"Hey, Kurokiyama, after we check out the clubs lets grab a bite to eat. I'm dying for something grilled." You heard the voice of Hitsugaya Takuya as he and Hashira Kurokiyama walked up the steps to the same platform as you.

As they walked across the platform Takuya noticed you standing a few feet away and glancing over at them.

"Ah, L/N-sensei. Good morning!" He greeted you warmly as Kurokoiyama slightly bowed his head in acknowledgement of your presence.

"Good morning." You said plainly as you turned your head forward and puffed out smoke before removing the cigarette once again from your lips.

After greeting them and minding your own business once more, the two of them stood about 5 steps away from you and didn't say a word. This awkward silence continued for a few moments before you glanced over to see them standing still with nervous looks. Sighing as you puffed out smoke and took the cigarette out of your mouth, you spoke to them.
