Chapter 20

Creed POV

I woke up chained kneeling in front of Sukiya, bloody and exhausted. I had no recollection of what happened. I was blinded with rage and let Charleston broke free.

"Do you know how much damage you will cause if I had not stop your rampage child?" She stood up from the throne.

I dare not speak. I needed to get to my mate as soon as possible but this enchanted chains is on the way. Charleston was out of reach.

"Have you heard the tale of Aidiox?" She inquired.

Still no answer from me. I'm busy testing the chains. I've heard songs and stories of him from my mother when I was little and thought highly of his bravery in the battlefield.

"He who is valiant. Right hand of Kaayu. God of the stars and the love of my life." There was longing in her voice. I stopped fiddling and listened.
I never knew they were mates.

"Damien took his life when he discovered his plans to overthrow Kaayu. With the goddess of Zon, they created a child of darkness. The very being residing inside Nathaniel's body for years now." She said quietly. I could feel it was hard for her to speak about what happened.

"It was a trap. Damien set up an ambush attack saying he needed help when the prisoners of Zon found their way to Iyama." She turned her back to me.

"I held my mate's mangled body in arms, a dagger stucked in his chest. He never did anything wrong!" Despair was evident in her voice.

My heart went out for her. I could never imagine my life without my mate. She's my everything now. I love her more than life itself.

I could feel the ache of longing for her touch amplified as time passed by without her by my side. I could totally understand the agony the goddess was feeling. It was worse than mine.

"What did the other gods do?" I rasped. I could feel my wounds slowly healing. Just a little more time and I could escape. I will do everything in my power to find my mate and prevent her from dying. I will die trying.

" We were too late. They planned it smoothly. Dispersed attacks on each realms kept other gods occupied.

"Niijah that conniving bitch. I've always known she wanted Kaayu for herself. The fact that she's Illya's twin. Who'd have thought she hadn't moved on after thousand of years. I swore on my mate's grave she will die by my hands!" She threw her chalice to the wall.

Howling winds and thunderstorm was brewing outside the temple walls. I wouldn't be surprised to see absolute mess in the morning. This is her realm and we are just mere subjects inside of her world.

"What did I miss?" Charleston groggily spoke.

"What did you do?" I shot back.  He scratched his head. He showed me flashbacks of his rampage. Warriors wounded, properties destroyed and an all out battle with my best friend.

"You dickhead! You almost killed Caden!?". I hissed through gritted teeth. He withdrew and plopped down sounding tired.

"I know I'm sorry. I'm fucking worried about Aryann. My emotions got the best of me." He sighed.

"Then you should help me get out of this chains so we can look for her you idiot." I hissed again.

"Stop hissing you are not a fucking python." He rolled his eyes. The fucking idiot just rolled his eyes at me.
If I wasn't in a serious situation I would have laughed. Aryann was definitely rubbing her silly antics on us. Gods I miss her so much.

"Do you know why Damien wants Aryann so bad?" Sukiya faced me again. Her face hard as stone.

I wonder that myself I knew my mate was special because she was the first hybrid child of both guardians of realms but I don't think that's enough reason for a god to have so much interest in her.

"She is likely to be Kaayu's successor. If they manage to corrupt her the shadow child that resides inside Nathaniel will transfer to her. She will be their weapon against Kaayu. " She said above whisper. My eyes widen.

"Wha-. How?" I struggled for words. She's just a normal immortal like me right? Charleston came forward to pay attention more. I thought this war was just among us immortals. I should have known better.

"Aryann is Kaayu's granddaughter. I was there when Amethyst gave birth to her. Kaayu ordered me to deliver her myself." My heart felt like it's gonna explode. It's more serious than I have anticipated. My queen. . my love. .My very soul ached. i never felt so helpless in my entire life. 

"We are against gods now. Shit just got real Creed." Charleston paced worriedly inside my head.

" We have to find her before they do!" I scrambled in my kneeling position surprising the goddess when the chains fell in a heap on the marble floor. 

"My deepest apologies your grace, i can't stay here a minute longer in your presence when my beloved is in gravest danger." I turned around and threw my crystal in the air forcing a portal to open.

This will surely drain my powers but I don't really care anymore. I happily lay down my immortal existence for Aryann anytime of the day. Always.

Suddenly my vision blurred. My surrounding seemed to move. "NO! not now. She needs me". I swayed then fell to the floor. " Sukiya, Damn you!". Charleston shouted outraged clawing out of my consciousness. Then darkness.

"Im sorry, my son." She sobbed before stepping in the portal.
