This is the last scene of Pokemon XYZ, where the main characters bid farewell in the airport.

After the Pokemon League ended, Ash decided to travel back to Pallet town to rest for a while, Clemount and Bonnie needs to stay and improve the gym, so they are staying in Lumiose City, and Serena was going to Hoenn for pokemon contests, they arrived at the airport as they put a full stop on their journey.

As they arrived at the airport, the first plane to come was Serena's, so all of them escorted her to the escalator. 

(The conversations are not the same in the anime)

"Goodbye!" waved Ash.

"Hope to see you soon!" shouted Clemount.

"You too! Goodbye!" shouted Serena as she waved back with her spare hand as she turned around gracefully towards the elevator.

Ash's POV

Watching her turn around like this makes me remember when I parted with my first travelling companions, Misty and Brock, especially let me think about Misty. I just wanna head back to Kanto and visit her- I mean them sooner! But I'm not so sure if she remembers me...

Suddenly, Serena turned back to us and started running up the escalator, did she forget something? I checked around myself, nope, nothing. 

Wait! Hold on! What is she gonna do? She is way too close!

"Uh, Serena? What are you doing?" I asked clueless.

"Silly Ash! Always having to ruin the moment! Kiss you dummy!" she replied jokingly as she stepped out of the escalator.

"Kiss me? Do you mean you like me?"

"Of  course! I should've known..." she facepalmed, "I've always liked you, ever since we were small!"

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you felt that way towards me, but I can't return my feelings because" I started murmuring to myself, "because...because... I think I like the girl I'm going to visit soon."

Yeah, you heard it right. I just realized that I like a girl, actually Brock helped me realize, I thought I should ask him why do I think of a certain hot headed girl so often, since he's a 'love expert'.
Even though I'm still a 10 year old, I've matured over my Pokemon journey, and I'm not that dense little 10 year old when I started my journey anymore.

She didn't hear the last sentence, so she asked again, "because what? I'm weak? I'm mean? I'm not good enough for you?" She started tearing up a bit.

"No! It's not that, in fact I know someone who likes you, someone who deserves you!" I tried to change the subject as I remember Clemount told me he likes her.

"But I only like you!" she argued with tears still in the corner of her eyes.

"Trust me, you will know who you really like is that person. I wish you good luck with him." I said as I tried to call her down.

"Ok, I get it, I understand that you don't like me and I'm not gonna make you, and if you ever find a girl that you like, I wish you two good luck too!" she said with a bitter smile, willing out her tears.

"I think I found her already..." I muttered under my breath. Luckily she didn't hear it.

"So, this is really goodbye now, I hope we are still friends after everything today." she continued.

"Of course! I will still miss you as a friend too, and thanks for the blessing!" I thanked.

"Goodbye!" she repeated as she stepped on the escalator.

"Goodbye!" I returned.

After she left, I was chatting with Clemount.

"Hey, Ash? What were you talking about with Serena just now? Why did she come back up after she said goodbye?"

"She said she likes me, then I said there's someone who deserves her better." I tried to explain this as simple, and trying not to drag my crush into it, I just hope he doesn't ask why I rejected her. Oh, and I stressed on the 'someone' to tease him. See? I even know how to tease people about their crushes now.

"Oh, I see. Wait... WHAT!!!? Did you tell her?" he was too busy blushing and hiding his blush that he didn't even bother to ask me why. Lucky me!

"No! Of course not! I'll leave it for you to say it!" I said defensively with a smile.

"Oh, thank goodness. So I guess your plane is next right?" He asked.

"Yep! I'm so excited to see my mum and Professor Oak again, and certainly my pokemon!" I missed out the person I was most excited to see.

"Ok, let's keep in touch! You have my Pokedex number right?"

"Yup, I'll send you a picture once I arrive!"

"Great! Safe trip there!" he said as we bid farewell to each other and I went on the plane thinking of that girl.

A/N How did I do? I made Serena nice in this one, though I'm not really a fan of nice Serena...
