"Well don't just sit there! These are potential sponsors!" she commands shooing us to the sparkling glass window.
Tensely I push my self into standing position I walk over to the window. Their nasty pasted faces squish up against the screen in a way that makes me want to gag. I can't help but want to push myself away from them. You can hear their jubilant crys full force even through the thick glass, but their plasters grins look more like a serial killers clown mask and their screams for joy sound more like battle crys. If that's their happy sound I'd hate to hear what they sound like when they are mad. It'a hard not to wonder if that is how they sound when their favorite tribute is being slaughtered.
An awful feeling locks itself in the pit of my stomach. I may be one of the biggest competitors in this grucime game, but I'm defineatly not the only one. The thought that I may not be going home ever again makes me want to cry. The fight to stay emotionless is on, fortunately I may not have many days left until emotion will the farthest thing from my mind. That is, if you are able to use your mind when your seconds form death.
"Hey I know your trying to look all vicious and everything, but I dont think your going to get us sponsors when your looking like you are going to pass out." Cato's grins after his appointing whisper
"who said anything about we." I glare back
" I just thought we might get a little further if we're not tryin to slit each others throats."
The response makes me want to chuckle, but I don't want him to think that his scheme is going to work one me. If he wants to play Cupid than he can do it with some delusional creep from another district. I'm not as gullible as he thinks.
"You don't know who you are dealing with." I retort glaring at him
He laughs back amused with my cockiness until he leans down to my ear. "Your a good actress Clove, but you can't fool me."
