Tori's POV

"Now, can anyone tell me what happened when someone was a new member of the ' Order Of The Pug'? And someone else must tell me where this cult was formed."

It was silent. Not one noise in Mr Heckles classroom. It seemed as though all of the students suddenly found the butterflies, outside of the window, interesting.

And as for me, I knew the answer.
So I raised my hand slowly and waited patiently to be called out to give the answers.

"Anyone? Does anyone know the answers to these questions? Because if you don't I will be giving you all a pop qui-". Mr Heckles stopped talking as he saw my hand in the air.

"Yes, Ms Veda? Do you need to go to the nurse again?". Everyone laughed.  I immediately shook my head and told him I know the answer. "Well go on then. Tell me."

"The newcomers in the Order Of The Pug had to wear dog collars, and the cult took place in Bavaria!"
After saying the answer I mentally patted myself on the back for not screwing up.

"Yes, that is correct. Now if you can call open your notes to page 329 and we can have quiet time and read."

I walked up to his desk and asked if I could leave, and presented him a note saying I have an appointment. He dismissed me and I left. It's kind of great having a doctor as a father and a mother as a paramedic. Before you ask why, I'll tell you. I normally get out of class with an appointment note from my dad's office. There is no point of me staying in class as I've already done all the work.

My parents make me study day in and day out. So I've practically done all of my work for the semester and I have nothing left to do.

I've just left the school, and I'm driving to my favourite café. Just as I pull up to park the car, i see a lady collapse to the floor crying, and pointing to the building infront of her.

I rush out of my car and look up. There is so much smoke, and I'm beginning to wonder why I didn't see it therd before. The lady keeps screaming for her son, telling the security guard that he's in his crib.
That's when I got involved. And that is how I got "famous" if you'd like to call it that.

I rushed to the lady, asking what apartment number she lives in, and run up the stairs to the 7th floor. I'm panting as I'm running, desperate to find apartment 89.

I'm frantic as I find the door and try and open it. My hand starts burning as I try turning the doorknob, but I ignore the pain and push the door. I can hear faint screaming, but the fire crackles are too loud. I walk into the apartment and see a door open with the crib in it. I speed walk into the room, lifted the toddler into my arms, and walked to the balcony. I heard sirens and knew that if I could get the rescuers attention, they can set out their parachute tent, and catch the baby. I had a feeling I wasn't going to make it down the stairs. So my main priority was getting this little boy safe.

I started screaming, telling the firefighters to get the tent and that they need to catch the baby. They do as I say. And they do it quickly.

Once they're ready, I look to the little boy, who has big tears in his big blue eyes. "Hey baby, you're going to be just fine Okay? What I'm going to do is tie this garden hose around your tummy, and let you down to those nice men and your mommy Okay?"
He nodded and hiccuped.

I tied the hose around him and started letting him down. But as he is half way down, the hose gets too short for me to hold. So I let go.

Looking down i see that he reaches there safely and I'm relieved.

I can hear the men shouting for me to jump onto the chute, and I look back to see the flames coming close. I shook my head. I was scared.

"TORI?! FUCK! TORI RAE VEDA GET DOWN. JUMP PLEASE! THEY'LL CATCH YOU!!". And that was my mother, the paramedic. I look her way and start crying, shaking my head. "I CAN'T MOM, I'M SCARED!"

"TORI YOU HAVE TO GET DOWN! I CAN'T HAVE YOU UP THERE ANY LONGER!". She kept trying to reason me. And that's when I decided to stand on the ledge to jump down.

But man things just don't go as planned in my life. They never have.

The balcony collapsed. And I fell with it.
