Chapter ten

  

   "What is she doing here?!" Stephanie asks with her hand akimbo and a gift bag wrapped around her fingers.

"Well, this should be interesting." James says smirking.

"You still have the guts to show your face after what you've done?!" She shrieks.

Does she have any idea that she is in an hospital? Again, she sounds like she's been crying. Pathetic much?

I open my mouth to say something but Will Tucker beat me to it. "Calm down Stephanie, she just came here to apologize." If I was in my right mind I would say Will is defending me. Maybe the sweetness of the chocolate has addled his brain.

"No! She shouldn't be around you. Not after what she did. She should be in jail or something." She complains.

Geez! You're not his mum!

"Look Stephanie, I was about to leave, so...." I try to explain.

"What is that you're eating?" She asks Will who was about to put a piece of chocolate into his mouth. She drops her gift bag and walks towards him and I move out of the way, because she looks like she can claw my eyes out with those fake nails.

"Um...chocolate?" He says innocently, "Maria made them." So he knows my name.

"Ew!" She shrieks snatching the box from him and throwing it into the trash.

"What the hell?!" James yells, "I was going to eat that!"

"Nobody has business with you James." She States.

I guess it's not just me.

"And I don't care, what makes you think you can walk in here and claim rights like you're his girlfriend?" He asks clearly annoyed.

I take this as my cue to leave.

"Guys, calm down we're in a hospital." I try to shush them.

"What are you still doing here?" Stephanie asks.

"I was going...."

"You shouldn't be eating that," she continues with William who looks like he's about to cry. I feel sorry for him.

I really don't know what's gotten into Stephanie. She wasn't like this, she was the nicest and sweetest girl I knew. I always thought that if anyone actually turned into a bully, it would me, not her. But like they always say you can judge a book by its cover.

"But..." Will tried to argue.

"No buts," she places her finger on his lip, "the doctor says healthy food."

"Bye guys." I start to leave.

"You are still here?" She asks slightly irritated.

"Calm down woman, I'm on my way." I say and was about to leave the room when she stops me.

"Here take these with you, " she gives me the daisies I brought for Will, "Will is allergic to them."

"No I'm not!" Will states and James shot him an apologetic look.

"Sure." I say taking it from her. I walk out of the room, leaving them to bicker.

"Daisies are not healthy either," I hear her bicker with William. I forgot to wish him good luck. I throw the daisies into the nearest trash can and bump into a man in white scrubs who happens to Will's doctor.

"Miss Colton." He says.

"Hey doctor Gregory." I smile.

"You're here to see Mr Tucker, am I right?"
