Broken Inside

Chapter 1

Capitol officials kidnapped me from my bakery in my home of district 13. They took me to the Capitol where president snow tried to break me and my happiness. He then threatened to kill katniss but I told him if he goes after her, i will destroy him. Mainly because katniss is pregnant with my child. But i love her with all my heart. We decided we would want to start a family together. Last month we got married and katniss looked beautiful in the white gown that cinna had in a catalog he made before he had died. Now back to my story with president snow. They took me to a small white room where they chained me down to a bed. They said, "don't resist or your precious katniss will be destroyed". I did as they said scared that they would actually do so. They stuck a needle in my arm. I think it contained a mysterious yellow liquid. I can't remember for whatever they put inside me destroyed some of my memory. As they injected more and more, I began to feel light and everything looked as if it was breathing. I hallucinated a lot, seeing mutts and blood rain. I even tasted blood off my wrist. As I fought it off, I felt better and decided I should get up and search for an escape route. I found a door, surprisingly unlocked, and opened it carefully. As soon as I did so, I was pulled out and felt a sharp stab in my upper arm. I fell to the floor and my last thoughts were about leaving katniss to fend for herself if I should die.

Chapter 2

"Peeta? Peeta! Where are you!?" It sounded as if katniss were speaking far away in a hollow long tunnel. I couldn't quite make out what was said next but I heard laughter and then a thump. I woke up from the dream and I felt my hands cuffed down to a silver table. President Snow walked in and flicked the iv tube. He then inserted more mysterious yellow liquid. Somehow I think it may be paralyzing me because I couldn't speak, nor move my legs. I hear the door slam and something gently tapping the floor. I try to move my head over to inspect and I see red liquid on the floor in a puddle. I turn away trying to go back to sleep just to see katniss again but I can't. The iv tube has taken me into a land of mutts, blood rain, tracker jackers, and mockingjays. I face horrible hallucinations and feel my body start to weaken. That's when I hear screaming and loud thumps like the one from my dream. The door opens and I see a strange figure walk inside. I can't make out the face because I'm still recovering from the last episode of hallucinations. He says in a deep voice, "this is for katniss. I only wanted her to be happy". Then a bag is pulled over my head and I'm stuffed into a vehicle- escaping the Capitol's plans. Hopefully.

Chapter 3

I wake up in a dark room. I think to myself, 'is this the Capitol or did the strange man have different plans for me?' I'm not strapped down to a bed anymore and I'm free to walk around I here rustling around from outside he room so I went to investigate. The door was liked this time so I tried to bang it down with my foot. Then a key lock clicks and a figure walks inside. This time it's a women. She hugs me and said, "Peeta! You scared me to death! I woke up and you weren't there so I went to search the bakery and some of your friends said you were taken by some Capitol guards! I sent gale to look for you because I was so afraid they killed you!!" So that's who captured me from the Capitol. Gale. We kissed and then she said, "Peeta last night I fainted and gale took me to the hospital. We lost the baby." I was in complete shock I almost fainted myself. I stuttered with my words, "W-w-we lost the b-b-baby?" Then katniss said, "Peeta I am so sorry." I freaked out and told her to get out. I screamed a little and she was very afraid of me. I started to hyperventilate. "Peeta," she said "We can always try again! Just calm down!" Then gale took her away. I say there I complete shock with my actions. Oh no. The only reason i overreacted was because. Because. The liquid they injected in me was, *gulp* tracker jacker venom.

heart you mutt! She was never good enough for you was she?! Was she?! I took care of her when YOU weren't there! She appreciates you and you treat her like garbage! She lost the baby, her only sense of hope, because of YOU! I'm disgusted." I throw his arm away and pin him down to the floor. "I love katniss! It wasn't my fault she lost the baby and I didn't mean to overreact! The tracker jacker venom that's inside of me controls my emotions. I hope your happy because once katniss finds out what you just sa-" gale then says, interrupting me, "Oh don't worry katniss will never find out from YOU" I think to myself what does that mean. But my thoughts are interrupted once a sharp pain is in my stomach. "You shot me" I say as I fall to the floor. "Yes I did and now katniss will never find out anything bec-" gale stopped as he heard a click in the door. He was in shock that katniss actually opened the door. "What's going on in- PEETA!!! Oh my god gale what have you done?!" Katniss said as she walked into the room. She knelt by my knees and was sobbing. She saw the arrow poking out if my stomach. She ran out of the room and gale followed. But when he tried to explain what had happened she stopped crying and slapped gale right in the face.

Chapter 5

"Catnip?" Gale said trying to make katniss forgive him. "What do you want? Me to forgive you for shooting peeta? Well that's not gonna happen. In your dreams." Said katniss. "Katniss! Katniss!" I moaned. "Yes peeta?" "Can you come here?" She ran back into the room where peeta made a large puddle of blood. She was worried. "What's wrong peeta?" Katniss asked me. "I just need you here" she laid down next to me not caring if she was sitting in a pool of blood. "Peeta!" She screamed as gale tugged the back of her shirt and pulled her out if the room I was in. Then he shut and locked the door and I heard muffled screams of pain. I screamed over and over again until saw a green gas coming in through the top vent.

Chapter 6

I saw the green gas coming in from the top vent and started to scream even louder, "KATNISS!!" I heard muffled screams of katniss and gale fighting over something I couldn't quite make out. I kept screaming her name as she pounded on the door. The gas filled the room and katniss finally got the door open. The last words I heard before I passed out were, "Katniss! He's not right for you!! Come back to me!" And then Katniss screamed back, "No! I never lost the baby!! I'm still pregnant!" I passed out. I woke up to a shining red and white bright light. A women in a German accent walked in and tapped the iv tube. I was paralyzed and couldn't move my right leg. I asked her where I was and what she was doing. She only answered, "Nothing to be concerned about boy. Your brain cells are quickly deteriorating and you will die in... Lets say maybe 2 days? We can't save you and no one can see you here." I feel a sharp pain in my head while I ask, "I'm going to die and I can't see my wife?!" "Yes that's correct now go to sleep, P-" she was interrupted by my quick movement an skills of picking up the coat rack to use as a weapon. "GET BACK AND LET ME SEE MY WIFE!" I yelled. She then answered in a close-to-crying voice, "She's dead Peeta." And that's when I realize that the women keeping me here, is Delly. Or so I thought.

Chapter 7

"Delly? Is that you?" I ask calmly as I let go of my grip on the coat rack. "Who is this Delly you speak of!?" She yelled back. Maybe I shouldn't have dropped the coat rack I thought to myself. She ran over grabbed my neck and shoved me against the wall. "I am NOT Delly anymore! My name is Cora! Soon you and your entire family will be dead anyway!" She said angrily. I was taken aback by her sharp movement and skills. I then said, "What do you mean my family?" I had no child, no wife anymore as she claimed before, no parents because they died in the bombing if district 12, so who was she talking about? "Your brother" she answered. "My what? I never had a brother! Stop lying!" I screamed. "Your brother is someone you already know. Neither of you know that you are related." She said trying to calm me down. "Del- I mean 'Cora', who are you talking about?! I demand you to tell me right now!" I yelled frustrated. "It's Gale."
