sorry to the tododeku stans this hurt me emotionally to write too

It was almost springtime, and the flowers in my garden were blooming beautifully. I of course have different sections for flowers that can grow in all of the different seasons, but I kept most of my spring/summer ones in my front garden, and the rest in the back. I have assorted succulents and ferns and potted trees all around my house. I have a special room where I keep all of my gardening stuff, just because there is so much of it.

I was picking flowers and pulling weeds in my garden when I saw this guy with his hair split evenly down the middle into two colours; red a white. I didn't see his face, but as he was walking down the street I could see the back of his head. I had forgotten what I was doing for a moment, and almost tried to remove one of my lilacs the way I would a weed.

The guy caught my eye again when he walked back up my street, this time facing the opposite direction, and I could see his face. His right eye was gray, on the same side as the half of his hair that was white. On the side where his hair was red, his left eye was a bright turquoise, and he had a scar around it.

I caught myself staring, and tried to focus on preening my flower bushes. "You have a lot of flowers," I heard a voice say. I tensed up, and slowly turned around to see the bi-coloured hair guy that was walking up and down my street.

"Um, yeah. I'm a florist.. Those ones to your left," he turned to his left, "yeah, those. Those are hyacinths. They bloom in the spring, around the same as the daffodyls to your right."

"Ooh, pretty," the guy mumbled, spotting the hibiscus flowers, their bright oranges and yellows standing out in the midst of some red and white carnations. I walked over to him and bent down to pick a red and white carnation for him.

"White carnations symbolize purity and luck, and lighter red carnations symbolize admiration," I told him, handing him the flowers. His eyes were wide as he looked at the flowers. He nodded, understanding.

"What do the dark red ones symbolize?" He asked.

"Love and affection," I replied. He formed a small 'o' with his mouth.

His watch or phone beeped, and he stood up. "I should really be going. Thank you for the flowers. See you around." He slipped me a piece of paper, then took off jogging up my street.

I unfolded the paper, and it had his phone number written on it. I smiled to myself, and pulled my phone out of the pocket of my shorts. I added him as a contact, and saved him under 'Red and White Carnations', as both a reference to his hair, and the flowers I gave him.

I didn't wanna text him immediately, my friends tell me that if someone gives me their number to not text them right away, or it'll look clingy or something. I looked around my garden one last time before heading inside, just to be sure I got all the weeds out. I headed inside and sat on my couch, starting some music on my bluetooth speaker from my phone.

Lemon Boy by Cavetown started playing first, and I realized how sort of fitting it was to what had just happened outside. I opened my messaging app on my phone and texted him.
