"Miss Vandia is here."

Elysa, my assistant, had just announced my arrival to the team. Everyone stood up when I entered the meeting room, I gestured for them to take a seat and they did.

I had been in Italy for almost a month now, the foundation of our new Hospital here had officially begun and I was the head engineer. Staying in Italy was very refreshing compared to the busy streets in New York. I knew I was capable of handling this hospital construction even if I was in New York but I preferred staying here. I also had the habit of personally overlooking the process of building the foundations of all my projects.

I sat down at the end of the long table and flipped through the file that was given to me. I was surprised when Elysa announced another person arriving.

"Doctor Juarez is here."

My heart sank.

Juarez, is it Ace Juarez?

I have not seen that asshole for almost six years now. I knew he was affiliated with our corporation but I was lucky enough to never run into him. I was expecting to see a man with jet black hair and blue eyes enter the room but instead an old man came.

I blinked a few times thinking if it was possible that Ace had has grown that old in just six years. I looked through the file searching for the Head Doctor's name, making sure it wasn't him.

Head Doctor: Junnie Juarez

My palm met my forehead. Of course, it was another Juarez, I was just as paranoid as ever.

It has been six years since he had graduated from Scion High but memories of him would always cross my mind every once in a while. I tried to date some other guys, forget him, focus on work but one way or another he would always find a way to enter my thoughts.

Often, I would see him in the news; saving a patient's life or helping out in the community. There were also times when we would go to the same event but I never bump into him, I was really lucky.

The most recent news about him was that he finally became a surgeon, normally it would take 12 years but he accomplished it in 10. A part of me was proud that he had finally made it. At times I would wonder if Joey, his younger brother, is doing better because he is there to look after him.

The meeting adjourned quickly, I was on my way back to my mini office when I received a call from my dad.

"Yes, dad?"

"Cana, my dear, I thought you were going back here last week?" he sounded stressed from the other side.

"That was the initial plan but I had nothing to do there anyway, the other building I am managing there is on hold so I thought I should just stay here," I opened the door to my office.
