A/N This story is about a society in witch 'superpowers' exist, but the people that have these 'superpowers' are not excepted by this society. They are looked down upon and feared in a way. And  in this society when you turn 16 you are tested to see if you have 'superpowers', and if you are found to have powers you are never seen again.
If you have powers, from the moment that you are born there is a tattoo that represents your power on your forearm. But the tattoo is only there when that person wishes to show it.

Albert POV

I walk down his school hallway in silence. I don't  want to except what happened to me. The one person that I trusted the one that actually meant something to me. He was gone. Forever.

Alexa POV

I stare at the stupid tattoo that sits on my arm. My life is perfect, or it would be if that stupid tattoo wasn't there to ruin my whole life. I am popular at school, pretty, my parents are rich and give me anything that I want, but that stupid tattoo ruins it all. My parents don't know about it if they did they would hate me. They are against powers.
"Alexa, time to go to school!"

Tommy POV

I sprint towards the school. I can't be late. I can't be late. I can't be late. If I am late on more time I will be kicked out. Why didn't parents have to find out that I have powers? Why do they have to treat me like this. Why do they make me come to school late so many times I am about to get kicked out of the only place that I feel safe.
I run through the halls of the school, ignoring the people that call out for me to slow down and slide into my classroom right before the bell rings. Thank goodness.

May POV

I see Tommy sprint in the door just as the bell rings. I inwardly groan. I would love for him to be kicked out of school. Why does he even care? It's not like he has good grades or anything.
When I told my parents that I had powers they were very supportive, and they still are. I know that most people aren't so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Jack POV

School is sooo boring. I block the teachers lecture out and form and form an ice ball in my hand. I roll it around on my palm and watch as it slowly melts. That was when I felt someone's gaze on me.
I quickly look up. Alexa is staring at my hand where my ice ball sat seconds before, now fully melted. We make eye contact, and I gulp. How did I mess up this bad why did she have to see that.
Alexa turns away and pulls out her notebook. She quickly scribbles something on a page and then rips it out. Discreetly she passes me the price of paper. It says one thing.
Meet me at the back of the school during lunch.

Albert POV

It is lunchtime, but I'm not hungry. I haven't had much of an appetite since it happened. Since my best friend in the whole world died. The only person who kept me sane through all that had happened. I kick a few rocks as I walk around to the back of the school.
"Wait! You have powers too?" I hear someone say. I walk around the corner.
It was Jack and Alexa. One of the most unpopular kids and one of the most popular kids. That along with what Jack has just said made me freeze in shock.
I also gasped. That was what made them whirl around to face me. Both of them started running towards me at the same time. Pleading with me to not tell anyone.
I silently pushed them away. Then I made sure that they were watching and rolled up my sleeve. Then a tattoo of a skull appeared on my forearm.
They looked at me in shock then Alexa sighed.
"Me too I guess," she said solemnly. She held out her arm and a tattoo of a flame appeared.
Jack did the same motion. His tattoo was a shard of ice.
"Do you know anyone else?" Jack asked. I almost nodded before I remembered and couldn't help but dissolve into tears.

Alexa POV

After Jack asked his question Albert just burst into tears. I immediately went to comfort him. After a few minutes of me and Jack being there for him he stopped. And in a shaky voice he spoke.
"I-I used t-t-to," he stuttered out.
"Oh," Jack said, seeming to understand right away. I was about to ask Albert to explain more, but Jack must have seen the look on my face because he shook his head slightly.
"Hey!" We heard someone say, "What's going on here?"

Tommy POV

I was taking my usual lunch walk around the school trying to convince myself that my parents wouldn't kill me when I got home, when I saw Jack, Albert, and Alexa sitting together. 'That's strange' I think to myself.
"Hey! What's going on here?" I say.
The three of them look up at me, surprised.
I see what looked like a flash of a tattoo on Alexa's wrist but when I look back it is gone.
I decide to just ask her outright.
"Alexa, what was that on your wrist," her face immediately goes red and she opens her mouth to speak, but fails to. I decide to not worry about the other two, they probably also have powers anyway.
"Don't worry," I say, pulling up my sleeve, "I have one too."
A tattoo of the Red Cross sign shows on my arm. This is the first time that I purposely showed it to someone.
I didn't mean for my parents to find out. But being able to heal myself makes it easy for me to hide that my parents are abusing me.
"You too!" Jack exited, "How many more do you think that there are?"

May POV

'I hope that there is more like us' I hear someone think. I do a little digging and find that it was Tommy.
Wait, is he thinking about powers I concentrate on prodding onto his mind. He is! I finally found someone else with powers, but why does it have to be Tommy out of all people.
I roll up my sleeve to allow myself to stare at the tattoo of a brain on my forearm.

Jack POV

I am so happy that I was able to find three other people with powers.
Then the bell for school to start up once again rings. I smile at my new friends before the four of us head into the building.
For once I am not thinking about what is going to happen after school.
