Ok this is my first chapter in this book, I really hope you guys like it, I tied to add as much detail as I could!!

Albert POV

As I am walking home, I hear someone calling my name, it's May a girl form school. I'm not sure if I'm glad to see her, I'm not really social and I don't really like her, I know May doesn't have powers, so I don't talk to her, she catches up to me and starts talking.

Alexa POV

I'm walking home with my friends, I can't stop thinking about my new friends with powers, I stupidly didn't think anyone in my school had them!! Well I obviously don't observe everything around me close enough. I reach my front door and say goodbye to my school friends, when I open the door, I am surprised to see my mother waiting for me there! Her blonde hair cascades over shoulders, her eyes are bright but her posture is slouched, she starts talking to me about work (as always) but now something's different, she never gets home early.

Tommy POV

I'm walking to the bus stop with Jack, one of the kids I just found out had powers!! He is actually pretty nice, although our social statuses don't match up, he is a good friend to have! I say goodbye and climb the bus stairs, the putrid smell of bus fumes and smelly kids wafts into my nose, as usual I take a seat next to my friend Meredith. Meredith asks me about my day, I kind of just shrug off the question, but I can't help but wonder, does she have powers?

May POV

I'm walking to my house with my friend Albert, he's actually kinda nice, but soon I reach my door and have to say goodbye, he doesn't even look at me. He just keeps walking, not even noticing that I left his side. I unlock the door to my house and try to push it open, jammed again, a body slam into it and it bangs open revealing my living room and kitchen, the dim lights flicker around the kitchen, I cough as I inhale dust. I think mom forgot to clean again, this past week was my late Dad's birthday and she can't handle it, she's been getting weaker and weaker every day, I have to find her! I walk through the dingy hallway and into her bedroom, a thin coat of dust covers everything, I leave that room and head to my bedroom and here is where I find her...

Jack POV

I leave Tommy at his bus and continue to the pickup line where my SUPER popular sister is waiting to pick me up, my sister (Tara) is chatting with her boyfriend Steve, she sees me and scowls muttering something to him, she plants a light kiss on his lips and he grins turning away to go hang out with his friends, Tara turns to me popping her pink bubble gum and applying a fresh new coat of lipstick, I tell her to hurry up because I have basketball practice to get to later tonight and I have to finish my homework, and here we go again another one of her friends is coming over to the car!
