Stumbling into STAR labs later Maria tore off her mask, her fumbling hands reaching back for the zipper on her suit.  She didn’t even bother entering one of the more private parts of the lab, she needed to get out of that suit and forget that fight ever happened as soon as possible.

As she glanced in a nearby pane of glass, now in her underwear, she realized she’d need Caitlin to fix her up.  She was covered in scratches and bruises, but most noticeably was the big bruise on her front.  It was practically a boot-print; in fact that’s what it was.  His foot aligned perfectly with her spine, his toes just below her breasts, and his heel over her belly button.

She swallowed and gently touched the bruised tissue with one finger before pulling it away quickly, whimpering.  Maria stumbled away as she then began looking for the nearest first aid kit, to at least start dealing with the cuts, hoping Caitlin or Wells would show up soon.  Her phone was still with her clothes in the room upstairs and she was too exhausted to look for them.  She heard the familiar sound of his chair, ‘Think of the devil...

“Someone use you as a stepping stone?”  Dr. Wells asked her smoothly as he rolled into the room, watching Maria as she sat on the counter in her state of undress, tending to an especially nasty cut on her thigh.  She scoffed at his words, refusing to look at him.  If he wasn’t her only hope of bringing Barry back, she would have pushed him out a window by now.  Instead she dealt with him as best she could.

“Maria, when you started working here, you remember what I told you?”  He then asked, rolling forward.  She tensed as he came closer, her eyes on her work.  She nodded stiffly, scooting back from him.

“I made it very clear that the reason I was trusting you instead of locking you up with all the others down below was because I trusted you to always have Barry’s best interests in mind.”  He said, arms crossed as he leaned back, watching her appraisingly.

“And yet, yesterday when I told you that we would never get a chance to even try to help Barry until Roy was out of the picture.  We had him locked up, but Barry released him and that even if you brought Roy back and locked him up again, Barry would just get him out.”  The man smiled coldly.

“So I told you we needed him to be eliminated.  I told you I would help you do everything you needed to do, I even offered to call it an accident if you didn’t want Cisco and Caitlin to know you willingly crossed your boundary.  Of course, we all know the Woman in White killed plenty of-”  Maria’s head shot up as she shouted,

“That wasn’t me!  I didn’t know who I was, or what I was doing, I had no say in the matter!”  He seemed unfazed by her interruption and continued,

“So because of guilt, or fear for your immortal soul, you refuse to do what is possibly the most important thing for saving Barry right now.  Until you do everything you can do to stop this –this is all your fault, Maria.  So grow up, put your naivety aside and be the woman whom I trusted.  One willing to do anything for Barry, even when it’s not a good thing.”    He had leaned in, hissing his words at her, as she stared back at him her bottom lip trembling.

“I’m going to send Caitlin away from Cisco in the hospital to come clean you up.  Nothing should scar…  or at least not that badly.” He said, turning and rolling away.  She sat there, head hanging as the tears, that she had been fighting off since confronting Barry earlier, began to fall freely.
