"There you go little one. Maybe next Christmas you'll get adopted," Mrs. Nuzzo said to Buddy, the newest and youngest child at the orphanage. He was only a baby and was left there at the door step waiting for somebody to come outside and get him. It was Christmas Eve night and Mrs. Nuzzo put Buddy down to go to sleep. She went to bed and it was silent. Then out of the blue down through the chimney came the jolly good Santa Clause! Before putting the presents underneath the Christmas tree Santa dropped his sack and went over to a plate of cookies and a cup of milk. When he dropped his sack a teddy bear fell half way out. Buddy climbed over the top of his crib and headed for the teddy bear. He made little noise but just enough for Santa to hear. But before Santa even turned around Buddy was gone. Buddy got the teddy bear and fell asleep in Santa's sack of toys.

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" yelled Santa as he walked through the door of his workshop. He sat down in his big red chair and ploped his sack down in front of him. "Santa's back! Santa's back," yelled all the little elves. Santa was tired from staying up all night and was ready to take a rest. All of a sudden Santa's bag started moving. "Oh," said Santa. He leaned forward and saw, along with all the other elves, Buddy swiftly move out of the sack of toys. "Gah ha," Buddy laughed. They all stood and sat staring at the little boy. One of the main elves had always wanted to be a father but he had completly forgot about it he had been so busy. In fact he didn't even wat a kid anymore! But, no one listened to the old elf and he was left with Buddy.
