These are the people who have perfect teeth, who went through puberty gracefully, who met their soulmates in college, and who have a job they adore.
But me... I am not one of these people.
I've had my heart broken too many times to count and I've had more people pushing me down than pulling me up. I've dealt with mental illness and people poking and prodding me like I'm some guinea pig in a lab.
I've been stomped on for having beliefs, traded in and tossed aside for the newer, skinnier models, and walked across because I hate confrontation.
But I'm not a pushover... I'm a person, and I deserve to be treated as such.
As a little girl I used to dream that one day I'd meet a man who would sweep me off my feet and treat me like a queen. We would get married and live happily ever after.
But happily ever after is only in fairytales and I'm starting to doubt that I'll ever meet a man willing to piece together my broken heart.
