It's a typical Saturday.
I'm standing in my bedroom, wiggling my way into an outfit while my best friend Frankie stands outside the door telling me to hurry up.

"ELENA ROSE! Ándale!" my best friend yells.

"Jimminy Crickets! I'm coming! Don't get your panties in a wad."

I finish tying my shoes and head out so Frankie can "approve" my outfit.

"Well, what do you think?"

"Damn girl! You looking fine!"

"Damn girl! You looking fine!"

"Thank you, although I don't see why it matters. We're just going to the movie theater."

"Hey, you never know. We just might meet some cute guys."

"No, you would meet cute guys while I stand awkwardly cast off in a corner somewhere."

Frankie sighs disappointingly and shakes her head. "Elena, what did I tell you about putting yourself down?"

"Not to."

"That's right," she replies, "You're a babe Elena, whether you like it or not. So own it."

"Thanks for the pep-talk Frankie, but I'm not going to kid myself."

"Stop being such a pessimist, Elena." Frankie looks at me with a sigh.

"I'm not a pessimist," I say. "I'm a realist. There's a difference."

Frankie throws her hands up in the air as if to say she gives up. "Sure, whatever. Now let's go before we're late."

I lock up and we hop in Frankie's car. She pulls out of my driveway and we head downtown to the cinema.

"I can't believe you want to watch Frozen 2."

"Hey," I defend, "Don't diss Anna and Elsa just because you have no imagination."

"Oh I have an imagination," she says smirkingly. "I just prefer to use it for dirtier things."

I can't help but laugh. "You and that perverted mind of yours."

She smiles. "You know it!"

We finally pull into the movie theater parking lot, buy our tickets and head inside.

"You want to go save us some seats while I get us some snacks?" I ask.

"Sure, just make sure to get me something with caramel," she responds.

"I will," I promise.

I walk over to the snack bar and wait till it's my turn to order. When I get to the front of the line I order 1 large popcorn, 1 Milk Duds, 1 Skittles, and two medium Cokes.

Yes, I like junk food. So sue me.

As I'm waiting for the person behind the counter to fill my popcorn and get the drinks, my eyes start to wander. I'm just scanning my surroundings till I see what has got to be one of the most handsome men I have ever seen, standing at the other end of the snack bar. And he be lookin like a snack, too.
