Diana's Perspective

We were at Olivia's house.  Harmony was asleep in one of Olivia's spare rooms and I was explaining to the girls, and our mates, what Harmony meant by 'Sarah's been hiding something from us.'

Sarah left a long time ago. She said she had to go and find Alder's body. But I knew something was up. I've known her for years and when she is actually looking for something she doesn't actually tell you. She'll simply just go.

Curtis came back with my cup of tea and start down next to me. Hee was my mate. He smiled at me and handed it to me, and started to rub my back as I started to explain.

"I've talked to Sarah before all this. We met a long time ago, before the war. You guys remember her right? We all went to the same school together." I started to explain and looked up. Everyone nodded except Riley, who had a confused look on her face.

Typical.

"Was she the girl that ran back to forest to look for some guy named...Bront?" She asked.

"Bolt. She left to go find Bolt. And yes. That was Sarah."

"She's grown so much." Elaine said sadly looking at the ground as her mate rubbed her back also.

"Yeah, I know. Anyway remember how she stopped talking after Cherry died? Well, when we were at the beach explaining everything to Harmony, I went through her mind. I found she doesn't have her gift of telepathy anymore." All the girls either gasped or had shocked looks on their faces.

"Impossible." Amber (Ambrosia) murmured.

"But the only way one can loose their power is if they die, or..." Maria stopped and trying to think through her answer, so I finished for her.

"If someone of great power took it from her. Possibly as a trade. So she must have seen someone, given her gift to them and have been given something back."

"Well at least we all know what she wants in return." Riley said now getting up and pacing the room.

"But there are only two things, Sarah could want- her mate back, or Cherry to come back."

"So it's obvious who she wants back." Sean, Riley's mate, responded. We all looked at him confused.

"Who wouldn't attempt to bring her mate back? What happened to her mate anyway?"

We all fell silent. Until Laura spoke up.

"Her mate...disappeared. He turned dark one night, and disappeared from us. As if he never existed."

"How do you know this?" Xeena asked innocently.

"Let's just say, I'm observant." Laura said obviously not wanting to talk about it.

"OK, so she wants her mate back. But who would she turn her powers in to? The only person that could possibly have her powers is the Dark Lord. But he's...we don't know where he is. Nor even if he's alive." Ambrosia commented.

I sat there listening to the conversation when I suddenly fell (mentally) into someone's mind. Once I listened for thoughts, I knew who's mind it was.

"Oh he's alive alright. And he's the rougue vampire. He's the person who Sarah went to. She's working for him. And she is the one who sent Alder's body there. " I said without looking up from the floor.

"Ok. So Sarah is not an ally. But how do you know that-" Maria started but I cut her off.

"That's not all," I continued and got up from my seat and stood in the middle of the room.

"He has...The Dark Lord is dead-technically."

"So he's a vampire?" Lance, my mate, asked.

"No, he's like me and the girls. We are souls. But we can take into our physical forms occasionally, but only for a certain period of time. The Dark Lord's body, is decayed. But his soul still lives like you guys do. In a physical body, feeling pain and blah, blah ,blah." I explained more for the boys than the girls.

"Wait, your dead?!" Curtis, Xeena's mate, asked now panicking.

"No. We did a ritual that would speed up the prophecy back in 1918. And it worked, but we also made a sacrifice." Laura said explaining to the boys.

"Which was..." Adrian, Laura's mate, asked. A little confused about the entire thing.

"We gave up our bodies and family. Our bodies still exist, but we cannot inhabit them until the prophecy has been done. And as of our families..." Maria said not wanting to finish the line herself.

"They think we're dead. They died, thinking we died during the war. But not all our families died. Some of us still have family but, they either won't recognize us or are too deep into denial to believe we're alive." Elaine finished.

"Except you." I said.

"What?" She asked rudely now turning to me.

"Your brother is alive. And he's The Dark Lord." I said recognizing his face in Sarah's thoughts.

" How do you know that? Are you sure it's my brother? " Elaine asked approaching me slowly.

"Tall?" I asked looking at him in Sarah's mind.

"Yes." She responded.

"Skinny?" I said smiling a little.

"Yes." She responded now a little annoyed.

"Dark, short hair?"

"Duh." Everyone else said. I chuckled.

"Pale?" I asked.

"Yes." Elaine said.

"Dark eyes?"

"Yes."

"It's definitely, your brother." I said now sitting down next to Lance.

" But if you have fresh information on Sarah' s mind that means-" Maria stated when we heard a knock on the door.

"Sarah's back." Xeena said. "Anyone have a rope?"
