-Brandon's POV-
It's been two weeks since the assumption that Athena may have ALL, and no one has been able to sleep. The band has been staying with us for the past two weeks to make it easier on us, more Athena than me though. Which I understand in a way. It's not easy being told that you have cancer.
Jeffree has been stopping by just about every day to make Athena smile and dressing her up. Which it makes her happy, but she's also in so much pain that when you look into her eyes, a moment of happiness but it's stripped away by the pain that she's feeling. It kills me that the person I love most could be taken away from me and it hurts so fucking much knowing that she's in pain. I don't want the strong and beautiful girl that I've grown to know and love be stripped away from me because of a fucking disease that kills. She'll always be beautiful and strong, always no matter what happens to her.
Today is the day where we get the bone marrow results and we see if she really does have ALL.
I got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen as I heard the phone ring and sighed when I saw that it was the doctors office. "Mr. Hoover?" I heard Dr. Marshall ask. I sighed, "Yes sir, it's me."
"We have the results if you would like to come in." Dr. Marshal said. I choked up for a few seconds but finally managed an answer. "We'll be there shortly." I responded. We said our goodbyes and I grabbed my keys from the center bowl on the table then walked back into the living room.
"Time to head to the doctors office..." I said, sighing. Not ready to hear the results. Everyone stood up, Hayden and Jeffree helped Athena up and helped her put her shoes on. "Let's go then." I said once everyone had their shoes on.
We all piled into Dave's SUV and began our way to the office.
"We'll stay in the car, you two go in." Hayden said. I nodded and got out of the car, helping Athena out afterwards. "Ready to go get the results?" Athena shook her head and I frowned. "Come on, babe. It'll be okay." I told her. "I hope...I feel really weak..." Athena whispered. I shut the car door and bent down. "Get on my back." I told her. Athena slowly got on my back and I stood up slowly, getting a grip on her and carrying her into the doctors office.
"Hello Mr and Mrs. Hoover. Pleasure to see you guys again. I'll call for Dr. Marshall." The receptionist who's always greeted us said. I nodded and stood with Athena on my back as we waited for Dr. Marshall.
After a few minutes Dr. Marshall appeared and he took us to his office and began speaking. "So, as you know we have gotten the results. And unfortunately it came out positive that you do in fact have ALL. I'm terribly sorry but, there are chances of you surviving if you go through with chemo. It's up to you though." He told us. My heart broke for the love of my life and I nodded. "If you decide to go through with chemo then I'll go ahead and set the appointment and I'd see you then. But if you decide against it, then I hope for the best." Dr. Marshall said.
"I'll set the appointment real quick and I'll see you two out." Dr. Marshall left the office and I stood, helping Athena up afterwards. "Come here." I said, she wrapped her arms around me with so much strength that I didn't even know she could muster at the moment. When I heard sniffling and hard breathing, that's when I lost it. My dam broke and I couldn't hold it in anymore as Athena was tearing up inside along with myself.
After Dr. Marshall came back with the appointment date he walked us out of the building and bid us a farewell for now. When we got back to the car Dave was in the drivers seat and Hayden was in the passenger. "Looks like we're sitting in the back with Jeffree." I said, helping Athena up into the car with Jeffree's help.
"What did the doctor say?" Jeffree ask. "It came out positive..." Athena answered quietly, burying her face into my chest as we began driving.
