the house in beverly hills was packed out for the event, cars parked bumper to bumper lining the entire street. music could be heard from the end of the block, and the bright lights made it stick out from the rest of the neighborhood.
the group of friends had made their way onto the sidewalk, collecting themselves before they'd enter the house. "there's gonna be hella people in here, so everyone stay close," jonah announced to them all as the walked down the street.
"just so you know, my brother's friends are here. and they can be a little much sometimes, if you know what i mean." hannah nodded, taking the hand corbyn had offered to her. "i've got you, though. promise."
"hey, it's the why don't we boys!" someone yelled as they all entered the house.
corbyn used his free hand to wave to a few friends, before turning his attention back to the girl next to him.
"you okay if we talk to some people?" he asked, receiving a nod.
"isn't that the point of a party?"
"fair enough," he chuckled, and led the way over to the group of younger boys. he greeted them all, letting go of her hand for a moment before grabbing it once again to introduce her. "this is hannah. hannah this is my brother jordan and his friends, tyler, braxton, and colin."
"hey," she said, giving them a small smile which they all returned.
"so you're the mystery girl my brother won't shut up about, huh?" jordan teased. hannah looked up at corbyn, who's cheeks were a tinted pink.
"must be," she giggled before mumbling. "didn't know you had so many nice things to say about me, besson."
"you weren't lying, bro. she is really pretty."
"well thank you," the girl smiled. "thanks for putting in a good word for me, corbs." corbyn squeezed her hand, and let his arm wrap loosely around her waist.
they talked to the boys for a bit, corbyn making sure she was comfortable around his friends and involved in the conversation. he felt good having her there, seeing the interaction between her and his brother made him feel good about their friendship, knowing it was one he could hold onto.
"i'm gonna grab a drink, you want anything?" corbyn asked her after awhile.
"jonah said no drinks. besides, who's gonna be responsible for you when you do something stupid like strip down on a table? me," hannah said matter of factly. "so, no thank you. i'm still an alcohol virgin, and i'd like to keep it that way."
"suit yourself," corbyn said as he walked off towards the kitchen.
she stood quietly in the corner of the room, observing the dozens of other people in the room.
the huge living room of the house had been decorated for the occasion, streamers and clusters of balloons lining the walls.
she watched as some people simply sat and mingled with their friends, while others were up dancing with red solo cups in their hands.
she laid eyes on the besson boy, who was pouring himself a drink as he spoke to another guy in the kitchen. she smiled to herself as she watched their interaction, the boy laughing at something the other guy had said.
"you seem awfully happy for a girl who just got ditched by her boyfriend at a party," a voice was heard behind the girl. she turned to face tyler and braxton.
