11 - I'm Not Going Anywhere
It was Trunks' first weekend in his own place, and he was spending it with Pan. The thought alone made his heart pound against his chest wildly. It was the first time it would be just the two of them alone for an entire night.
Bulma and Vegeta had pouted when Trunks told them that he and Hana would be moving out. To make up for it, Trunks had allowed them to take Hana on cruise vacation. They would be visiting some tropical islands towards the southwest. Trunks had spoken with Hana earlier and she was having a blast with her Nona and Nono. He was happy for her, but he missed her too. The new house wouldn't feel complete until she was there too.
Chi-Chi and Goku had gone into East City for a weekend spa trip. Chi-Chi hadn't wanted to leave Pan, who was now thirty-eight weeks along in her pregnancy. She was scared Pan would go into labor at any moment, but Pan had convinced her mother to go and enjoy herself. Pan had said she felt too guilty to ask them to stay since they had been planning on the trip for over a year. It wasn't until Pan had said she would be staying with Trunks that Chi-Chi relented and said she would go. Trunks felt proud to know Chi-Chi trusted him to take care of Pan.
"Goten is at North City for his final exam for the Police Academy," Pan said from her spot on Trunks' couch. She was surrounded by throw pillows and looking right at home, which Trunks was happy to see. "And Bulla just happens to have an pottery exhibit in North City as well. How long do you think those two will try to hide their relationship?"
Trunks picked up Pan's feet so he could sit down on the other end of the couch. "I don't know," he said as he placed Pan's feet on his lap. "But it's funny as hell watching them scramble to get away from each other when we walk into a room."
Two weeks ago, there had been an obvious change to Bulla and Goten's relationship. The air between them screamed they were a couple. The hand-holding, the doe-eyed looks at each other, and the stupid grins made it obvious. The two of them, for whatever reason, were trying to hide their relationship, and Trunks and Pan had agreed to play clueless for their entertainment.
"Yeah," Pan started to giggle before she winced.
Trunks sat up straight and looked at her worriedly, "are you okay?"
"I'm okay," Pan gave him a small smile. "I've just been hurting a bit," she admitted. "Last week I had those false contractions, and I've been having them on and off since then. I guess my body is just getting ready to have the baby."
Trunks looked at her with a frown. She had looked pale the last several hours, and she hardly ate the takeout he had gotten her. It was from her favorite place, too.
"Trunks," Pan raised an arm, and he instantly grabbed it. "I'm okay," she promised him. "It's just cramps, which are normal. Can you help me up? I need to go to the bathroom."
Trunks helped Pan up and kept a hand to her back as he led her to the bathroom a few yards away. "I'll find you something to snack on to help your cramps," he told her as he stopped at the bathroom door.
Pan let out an amused snort. "I would tell you don't have to, but you would just do it anyway, wouldn't you?"
He grinned, " I would."
Pan shook her head as she wobbled into the bathroom. Her stomach was huge now, and he wondered just how much longer they would have to wait before the baby decided to make his appearance. He knew Pan was ready for it.
Trunks turned around and pulled out his phone to google what could soothe cramps. He went to his fridge, and was thankful it was just recently stocked. He was pulling out some orange juice when the bathroom door suddenly opened and Pan stumbled out. She looked horrified, her dark eyes wide, and her face white.
