It's been so long since I've seen her cry...

Is it wrong for me to be relieved that I'm the reason for her sad yet beautiful tears?

3 Months Earlier

"Lu Chan?"

Lucy looked away from the window towards the entry of the room. She smiled softly at the short, blue haired girl walking towards her.

"Levy."

Levy smiled as well and sat in the chair right next to Lucy's hospital bed.

"How are you feeling today? Better? Worse? Are you thirsty? Are you hungry? Do you need to use the bathroom? Is the-"

"Lev! I promise that if I need anything, I'll tell you, ok?"

Levy sighed and nodded quickly. They conversed the day away. Nurses would come in every hour or two to check on Lucy's condition.

"It's gotten late again. You should head home before it gets too dark out," Lucy suggested to her best friend.

Levy bit her lip contemplating on how to bring up the person she's been meaning to talk about ever since Lucy got out of surgery 2 weeks ago.

"Hey..Lu-"

A sudden knock was heard at the door. Both girls looked at each other confused since no one had mentioned visiting that day.

The doorknob jiggled slightly before it slowly opened to reveal:

"Gajeel? What happened?"

Gajeel sighed, "It's 10 Lev. Time to go."

Levy gave an 'oh' and gave Lucy a goodbye hug.

"I'll see you next week."

Lucy nodded and watched Levy and Gajeel walk away hand in hand.

"I wonder how he's doing right now.."

Lucy closed her eyes as she replayed her memories in her head; like she does every night after Levy leaves.

Somewhere in Magnolia

The night sky was pitch black with a streak of navy blue through it. The stars aligned perfectly yet scattered along, shining so very bright.

"Oi."

The faint squeak of a swing became silent. The silence ate at the two for a minute longer before one decided to break it.

"What are you doing here? Actually, how did you even find me?"

Gray stood staring at his obviously broken best friend.

"It's been two weeks. Don't you think it's time-"

"Time for what exactly? It's too late now... Nothing I can do to change what happened..because I was SUCH a DUMBASS!"

Voice cracking and tears falling. The boy was heartbroken and guilt-filled. All Gray could do at this moment is listen as he looked away from the swing and towards the beautiful yet sad, starry night sky.

[Authors Note]
Hello! Trashu here. Tysm on the positive feedback from my first story, "Hanahaki Disease." A lot of people were wondering and asking if I would do a sequel which I debated on for a while because I liked the idea of a story not ending as a happy ending. BUT, I'm writing this story for those who would like a sequel, and to those who prefer the way the original ended, YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ THIS ONE ITS PERFECTLY FINE! If you'd like to close the book on Hanahaki Disease with just the first one then thank you for enjoying my original story. To those who are here to read this one, thank you for reading on to this story! I'm even debating on making a side story with Gruvia but that'll be up to you guys on that idea so please give me feed back on that one!

You've reached the end of published parts.
