Chapter 1: Never Be Afraid

Melissa's POV

          Its been few hours and its already night time after Aaron and I left Starlight and right now, we're just on a boat heading back home while the others are still staying. I feel really bad for Aaron, not only does my brother have permanent blindness, but he also lost his memories of his friends and family. I just hope there's a solution to both of his problems, or atleast one of them is solved. Although, something has been bothering me lately after Aaron and I had that conversation a while ago. He said that there's this friend he met online named Shu. Hmm, I should probably ask him who this friend is. Maybe he can still remember who she is. I stared at him for a while as he stares in the distance before walking towards him. I tapped his shoulder and asked,

"Hey, Aaron?"

"Oh, i-its you again. M-Melissa right? Sorry, I must've forgotten your name a bit."

 I giggled, "Its alright. Anyways, how are you feeling?"

"I'm good, I'm honestly feeling a lot better. I just can't stop thinking about her."

"Shu?"

He nodded.

"Aaron, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"What else do you remember about this online friend of yours?"

"Well, all I know is that we met through an online game. We've been friends ever since high school but.... I never got the chance to actually know her real name, how she looks nor I got the chance to know who she really is."

After a few seconds of awkwards silence, I began to talk,

"She sounds like a very close friend of yours"

"She is"

"Thank you for sharing me this Aaron. I promise we'll do everything we can to bring your memories back. For now, you should head inside, we got a long a travel to get back home."

"Thank you as well, for helping me through this."

I smiled at him. I held his hand as I helped him slowly walking towards his room. As we walked, he then asked,

"Melissa?"

"Yes Aaron?"

"If we're both siblings, are you my little sister or my older sister?"

I raised a brow and smirked, "Are you assuming I'm your younger sister cuz I feel short to you in height?"

"Maybe..??"

I bursted out in laughter and assured him, "Well, I'm actually your older sister which makes you my younger brother."

"But you really do feel shorter to me"

"Oh shut up"

He then began to laugh as well until it faded away. We finally made it to his room as I opened the door and slowly helped him make it to his bed. Once we made it, he sat down on his bed and said,

"Thanks for helping me...sis"

I chuckled and replied, "Anytime bro. Goodnight Aaron"

"Goodnight Melissa"

          I walked out the room and closed the door. I couldn't help but do a quiet victory dance so that Aaron won't hear me. I can't believe he just called me sis. And even though he has no memory of me being his sister, I take it as a good start for me. After I finished my dance, I walked towards my room.
