Chapter 4 meeting hawks

She was patrolling through her usual neighbourhood when she decided to stop by a local restaurant that she is fond of.
"Hey buzz, how are you?" She asked the man behind the counter. She nicknamed him buzz because of his quirk. He can create a buzzing and in your ears that is hard to focus with.
"I'm alright kid, how are you these days. Can't lose my regular" he replied jokingly" the usual i suppose?" She nodded

They made small talk while he cooked her Chinese Katy's curry. Just then, a new customer walked in. She didn't spare them a glance as she stood by the counter, waiting for her order. It wasn't until they spoke up that she looked at them.
"Hi can I get a chicken takoyaki to go please? Thanks"
His wings were what caught her attention. Bright vermillion bird wings were on his back. He had tousled, dirty blonde hair, with a yellow visor over his eyes. He had light brown jacket on top of a form fitting top, with loose trousers and black combat boots. He looked over at her and winked. She rolled her eyes and looked away.
"So" he said facing her as she turned to look at him "come here often?"
"Yes"she replied bluntly.
"Are you a pro, I feel like I've seen you before, maybe you came near my agency?"He asked inquisitively getting closer.
"Yes I'm a pro, and if you must know, you have seen me before. I was at the fight with that giant villain with the impenetrable armour" she replied pulling back a bit. His eyes went wide as he pulled back.
"It's you. You're the one who broke his armour with those ball thingies out of your hands. I didn't know it was you" he said in amazement,
eyes trailing down. She frowned.
"Eyes up here, bird boy" she said playfully as he feigned offence.
"I was just admiring the view before me" his face forming into a smirk, soon turning into a winded expression as she hit his gut.
"Keep your eyes up or I'll hit lower" she smirked.
"Kin-" he was cut off by her driving her knee into his crotch.
"Next time, think before you speak" She seethed.
"Here's your order kid" he said as he handed her her takeout, then looked at the bird man "JESUS CHRIST, NAKANISHI, you just made the number three pro hero fall to the ground, I'm so sorry hawks for any inconvenie-" he was cut off by laughter.
"You have nothing to apologise for, I'm alright. She's just feisty, I like her" he said as he winked again at her. She rolled her eyes in disgust as she took her takeout and handed the yen over. She said goodbye and walked outside, unaware of a certain pair of honey coloured eyes following her every move like a hawk.

She sat on an abandoned warehouse roof that was suspected of being a hideout for a local villain, but it was just empty. She popped a piece of chicken in her mouth as she swung her legs slowly back and forth. She sighed in pleasure as the sun was setting, painting the Sky in a mixture of reds, yellows and oranges. It was the perfect view. She sat back, closing her eyes

Until a certain bird boy flew in front of her, shadowing the light. She opened her eyes and groaned.
"Not you again" she whispered to herself.
"Nice to see you too" he said, hovering in front of her.
"What are you doing here?" She asked exasperated.
"I just came to talk" he replied, landing and sitting next to her.
"And what did you come to talk about" she asked him, eating her rice.
"Just a friendly chat between friends" he said.
"We're not friends" she said bluntly.
"But we can become friends. Tell me about yourself" he asked, moving to swipe a piece of chicken from her.
"Well, wouldn't you like to know" she said, smacking his hand away. "Hands off bird brain"
"Ow, I would like to know, and I have a human brain" he imitated offence.
"You have a bird brain because you are a bird. Plus your a cannibal" she whispered the last part to herself.
"I am not a cannibal because I am a human. A pro hero, actually" he said a-matter-of-factly.
"If you were a pro, you would have noticed the 5 men that entered the building" she said, getting up and loading her crossbows. He looked confused, looked back at the warehouse, his eyes widening.

The men inside the warehouse were unaware of the 2 pros on the roof. Biomistress aimed 5 balls filled with tungsten alloy at the 5 men. She would have been able to take them all down through a hole in the roof, but hawks had other ideas. He charged through the roof, alerting the men to their presence. Cursing under her breath, she re aimed and took out 2 men. Hawks punched another man through a wall, before slamming another on the floor. The other other man bolted out the door, trying to put as much distance between the pros and him.

Hawks was preoccupied with beating the men, so he didn't see the man escape, but she did. So she launched herself at a rooftop and pursued him. He eventually stopped, making it easier to hit, so she fired a gum ball at him, sticking him to the wall.

She met up with hawks who was tying up the men.
"Where were you?" He asked, looking at the man she had tied up. Then smirked "hope you weren't doing anything naughty" she gagged.
"You are disgusting, did you call the police?" She asked. His face fell.
"Oh, well- uhhh- I - uhhh, no, I didn't" he said guiltily, looking at his feet.
"Don't worry, I called it in, they should be here soon" she reassured. He looked up, a bright smile on his face.
"That's good" he said.

The police arrived and took the men away. Hawks watched in mild curiosity, then turned to her.
"What exactly were those men arrested for? What did they do?" He asked.
"They were working for a local villain" she said.
"Yeah but, what did they do, besides the whole being associated with a villain?" He asked again.
"They deal with drugs. Mostly watered down versions, But they are still illegal" she said turning to walk away.
"Hey wait! Where are you going?" He shouted.
"Home, I'm off duty" she said simply.

She walked into the apartment, rubbing mocha's head, and went to the bedroom. She got changed, cooked tea and changed mocha's food and water bowls. Then she proceeded to fall onto the bed and went to sleep.
