       Shit...
My condition was worsening by the minute. Those assholes at Chuuouku refused me anymore of that candy, and so I'm suffering the consequences.
I don't know how much longer i'll last.
       bzzt, bzzt.
My phone buzzed on the coffee table.

Gentaro responded and said that we should meet now at the café I suggested. I guess if I were to go anywhere, being close to office was my best bet.
My blurry vision slowed me down as I got ready to leave my office. I shoved a hand into my jacket pocket and felt around for the few remaining candies. I cringed at the low number as I tried counting them. 1,2,3,4,5,6... Six. That would barely last me 3 days. Is that really how long I had to live? Just 3 short days? Tears pricked my eyes, but I wiped them away as fast as they fell.
I've gotta meet Gentaro, c'mon Ramuda, focus.
I blinked rapidly in an attempt to clear my vision as I stumbled towards the door. I took a deep breath then left my office, walking towards the café.
I turned one last corner and the café came into view. Gentaro was sitting on a bench outside, nose buried in a book.
"Hi hii~!" I said cheerfully.
Gentaro looked up from his book and smiled.
"Good afternoon. Shall we?" Gentaro said, snapping his book closed and gesturing towards the door.
I nodded and skipped my way into the building, teeth clenched from the pain.
"My goodness your hair is a mess." Gentaro scolded once we sat down at our table. "Did you even look at yourself this morning?"
"Oh! Haha.. Silly me! I must've forgotten. Haha..." I said, picking up my menu and hiding my face as a particularly bad wave of pain passed over my entire body.
I would eat another candy, but I'd already eaten 2 today. With 6 candies left, 2 per day was the max. After today, I had 3 days to live.
"Ramuda!" I heard Gentaro's voice call, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Oh! Sorry!" I cleared my throat, putting down my menu. "Yes?"
Gentaro sighed.
"Honestly Ramuda, I've been calling your name for awhile now! Did you pull an all-nighter or something?"
"Haha yeah, something like that..."
"As I was saying-"
I stood up suddenly, my chair making a horrible noise as it got pushed behind me.
"Gentaro, I'm really sorry, I've gotta go." I said, and ran out of the café.
"Ramuda! Wait!"
I ran down the sidewalk, pushing people out of the way as I ran towards my office. I just barely made it in the door before I broke into a violent coughing fit. I covered my mouth with my hand as I fell to my knees. After a few moments of relentless coughing, I removed my hand from my mouth only to find that it was covered in blood. It was hard to breath, the blood getting into my airways.
Ring, ring!
My phone rang from inside my jacket pocket. It was Gentaro. I clicked the decline call button and set it down beside me. It rang again. Decline. A third time. Decline.
Bzztz, bzzt.
He texted me.
It read: "I'm coming over."
He's... coming over? God, what was I going to say. I couldn't just tell him about my involvement with Chuuouku, right? Oh who am I kidding, Chuuoku abandoned me. I owe them nothing now. There is no "involvement" with them anymore. I heard a knock.
"Ramuda? Are you okay?" I heard Gentaro's soft voice call through the door.
I took a deep breath.
"Ah, Gen-ta-ro!~✰ haha! I'm fine-" I broke into another coughing fit, more blood coming up than before.
"I'm coming in."
I heard the door open and felt it when it slammed into me.
"Ramuda! I'm sorry I didn't know you were right-" Gentaro cut himself off as he looked at me and my blood covered hands in horror. "Oh my god, what the hell happened to you! I'll call an ambulance."
"N-no, please." I said in between coughs. "Candy... in my... in my jacket pocket."
Gentaro furrowed his eyebrows.
"I really don't think that's a good idea-"
"GIVE ME THE CANDY NOW!" I screamed at him before coughing up a worrying amount of blood.
"Fine! Here." Gentaro said, bending down and plucking a lollipop out of my pocket. "Take it."
I snatched the lollipop from him and hastily sucked on it, immediately feeling relief as the sickly-sweet taste filled my mouth.
There was a moment of silence before I said;
"I'm sorry for yelling at you."
"No need to apologize, are you alright now?"
"For the moment, yes..."
"I'll give you a few minutes, but will you talk to me about what's happening?"
       I thought about it.
"Yes, but only the basics. If I survive, I'll tell you the rest." I said finally. "Also, might as well invite Dice while you're at it."
       "Alright, I'll do that."
       "And Gentaro?"
       "Hmm?"
I hugged him. His body tensed at first but soon relaxed and hugged me back. I hadn't realized it, but I had started crying.
"Thank you... thank you so much. You saved my life." I cried harder as he put his hand on my head and stroked my hair.
"I'm happy I could help. Let's get through this together, okay?"
       "Okay."
