Betty POV

Today is the day I was running a marathon for charity. I was very excited but also very nervous. My number is 1406. Jug and I were driving to the starting line. He could probably tell I was a bit nervous. "Baby, everything's going to be alright, you're not going to hurt yourself, okay, just remember, when you do this you will be helping some less fortunate people across the world," he said. Suddenly I got very excited. We got out of the car and started walking toward the start. "Are you ready?" Jug asked as he looked at me. "Ready as I'll ever be," I said enthusiastically as I linked our arms and confidently walked there. "Baby, I have to go, I'll be watching," he said as he waved and walked towards the barriers. I waited there. Anxiety taking over me as I heard the commentator said "On your marks, get set," he waited a couple of seconds before shouting go and firing three gunshots. I started running, fast. Before long, I was near the front. I was running until I heard someone fall to the floor in agony. I looked behind me and saw that someone had collapsed behind me. I quickly ran back towards them and lifted them up, all their body weight on my shoulder. I continued walking towards the finish line, cheering everyone on as I was slowly moved to the back. The ambulance came quickly and I was soon freed from their weight. I sprinted towards the front.

Jughead POV

I was waiting in the barriers at the finish when I saw paramedics run towards the runners. I immediately thought it was Betty until I saw them drag out a middle-aged man. I heard footsteps soon after and quickly pulled out my camera and phone. People began crossing the finish line very quickly. I started filming when I saw a familiar blonde ponytail swish it's way over. She was quite close to the front, which was pretty surprising since she could never keep up with me on our daily runs. She was one of the first people to cross it. I felt so proud when she came back wearing a medal. "You did it, Betts!"  I yelled as she ran towards me. I hugged her and she winced in pain. "Is everything alright?" I asked. "Yeah, I just carried a middle-aged man half of the way because he collapsed," she said. "Okay, wanna get ice-cream?" I asked. She took a large gulp of her drink. "More than anything," she said, breathless. I put my arm around her shoulders as we walked off to the car. "I'm very proud of you," I said, kissing her forehead. "So am I," she said.
