Chapter 9:
And if indeed you bring peace unto my soul
Put me clear on this: why'd you let go?
I held on with my life and yet you kept your heart stone cold
Let me grope
In the darkness for feelings that wouldn't grow
I stayed there like a bitch refusing to take a hint and in the end I'm tossed outside in the cold
I tried to stay true to you
Gave you all the best of me without ever showing you the hurt I was going through
Guess you all my broken pieces and shattered em again, said it wasn't enough for you
The fuck am I to do?
Can't sell my own soul just to be with you?
All I ever did was just to real love you
Yeah
All you ever did was just play me through
Have you ever been heartbroken by someone whom you never expected it from?Been betrayed by someone whom you desperately tried to believe would never hurt you on purpose?
Loved someone unconditionally, and then the moment you let your guard down, they come in and stab you?
I have.
And believe me, it is not what you wish for.
Nor hope to experience again, if yiy have.At first, you refuse to believe it ever happened.
Classic number one of the five stages of grief, right?
Right.
But its not just 'a classic'. It stings, and burns, always on your mind, but you never want to accept it.
You want to know why the person acted that way, what you'd done to deserve such treatments.
Most times, the lucky few get a honest answer from their Brutus's.
I never did.
Hey, dear readers!
This part was a song I composed a while ago, and I felt it was just fitting to actually add it to this piece.
I like to read it with my earpiece plugged straight in, playing sweet melancholic strings, soft piano, and an occasional background drum line.Try it, and please, do tell me its effects in the comment section.
I appreciate you all who've read, are reading, and will read this work.
I just hope you enjoy reading it, the same way I both enjoyed writing and reading it.
Thank you all!
Much love.
