I didn't meet Riley until I was about 15. He was 16, tall, dark and handsome. Not in that Zayn Malik type way, where some 12 million girls swoon over some mysterious figure, who no one really knows. He became tall, dark I and handsome, after I knew every detail, every hole in his personality.

January 18, 2013 was the day I gave up on everything. Everything everyone had ever said to me was a lie. We love you, we couldn't imagine life without you, life would be a bore without you, you mean the world to us. Everything was a lie. They did picture life without and determined it would be better if I didn't exist. It was the day I decided to do them a favor and jump. Jump off the Brooklyn Bridge and meet fate face to face in the dark, watery underworld. I climbed over the rail, standing on top, letting the crisp autumn air nip at my face, begging me to go. I began to count down in my head from 10, ignoring the honks, stares, 911 calls and soft cries. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2-
"Hi, I'm Sarah," I looked down behind me. It was a girl, maybe 5'5, 16, beautiful blonde hair, and her hand was outstretched towards me.
"Come down from ledge. I have a friend who'd like to speak with you." She held out her phone with her other hand. I studied her. Black beanie, bangles, guitar slung behind her back, Doc Martens and a beautiful tempting smile. No one has smiled like that to me before. I accepted her hand and jumped down from the rail. She handed me her phone. There was one problem. I didn't talk. I stopped talking when people stopped listening. I hoped for the best as I used ASL to tell her I couldn't use my words to speak.
"Hello? She can't talk, I'll answer for her." Sarah told this mysterious person.
"Hi, what's your name?" He had a soft but confident voice. I liked it.
"My name is Jay."
"Sarah tells me you were going to jump. Are you still on the ledge?"
"No."
"Give me 72 hours to show you life is worth living."
"I didn't catch your name."
"Riley, Riley Lynch."
