Family not Friends

The two weeks past and it was time for implantation of embryo and Lilly was happy and nervous about it. She walked in the doctor office and there was Jon and Harley. An older woman sweet and kind with a soft voice. Lilly hi to Jon and Harley. Than Jon introduces me to his mom and she look in her purses and pulls out a photo. Lilly look at and know right away that it was wedding invitation and a thank you she and Dustin sent out. Lilly went over to the lady and she said yes your Dustin girl I'm sorry missed wedding I was not able to get there. I lost touch with Dustin shortly after the wedding because of time. We moved a lot before he was EMT school. I'm sorry that you lost touch he was a good man because you saved with that there was call for Ms. Lilly Knight. Before went in Jon's turned I have good felling about this.

Jon before enter the door said if this works we be family for gift you gave but of dose not happen you are family because you where through Dustin. Oh Jon she said. They took her back they implantation was done all they could do was wait the two weeks and test. Lilly and kids pray every night that it would work. It seemed like the longest two weeks of there life. Jon and Harley called night to make sure she was ok or if she needed anything. Jon didn't think when he was looking for a surrogate he end up truly find family that was lost. They become as close as bother and sister and no matter what she was and know he would never lose her.  The day had come to test they had agreed that the before her the kids would come to the farm. In the morning the three of them stood around a cup pee and she dipped the test stick in and waited three minutes. She walked to near by fences and told the boys she give the space as they checked the test. The biggest smile came to Jon face than Harley giving them a moment than running over they gave a quick hug. Soon they agreed that they would wait to say anything.

The weeks past as fast as they could it was know Lilly was almost fourteen weeks they waited to extra weeks just to make sure and anyway it was thanksgiving and they wanted to announce with as much Knight family around but Lilly was still a little nervous about it all because she just close Jon, Harley and his mother. Lilly and kids walked up the drive slowly after take the bus. Jon saw her and the kids walking up the drive with some dishes in tow. Jon runs out to meet them. Hey Lilly he said as he took the rolls and pie that she made and said you didn't have to do that it fine Jon. They walk up the drive he look at her how are you feeling good Jon. They all walk in the kids found Jordan son and they all ran to play. Lilly sat at the table and talk to Jon and Harley a bit before bed into room with the Knight men watch foot ball. This Jordan the baby of the family Jon said with smile.

  After meeting the family. Was sitting look out the window with Jon's Mom at her side. How have you been doing my dear? Jon's Mom ask. Good busy with kids and working on my on line class. What are you going to school for my dear? Real estate Lilly said. You should ask Jon to quiz you he has his license. Maybe I should thank you Lilly said. The lady continued to chat when a car pulled up the drive. Lilly saw a man get out the car that she had fallen in love with many year ago. Jon and Jordan run out and help Joe with the kids inside.

  Lilly sat quietly as everyone of the Knight asked Joe how he was. He talked for awhile till he headed to the window where I was sitting quietly we start together looking out the window. Till Joe broke the silent by ask Lilly her name. My name is Lilly she said with a small smile. How do you know the Knight's? Well it long story but I'm Knight but not by blood. Oh what do you mean my last name is Knight because of my husband how passed took the Knight name because he protected oh Joe said. Your husband name must be Dustin yes why do you ask because his celebration of life was at the same time. Joe stop and was quite for a little more excused himself.

  The day went on Lilly walked around the grounds with all the kids and Jon. Jon paused and said I saw you talk Joe. I was he still very hurt by the passing of his wife. Jon look at her and says he my youngest Kate and Joe youngest Sam have been glued at hip from time he has showed up. It nice to see that Jon said from the time they lost there mom they been just trying to make there Dad happy and look after him. Not that Joe has wanted that it just way they where raised with such big hearts. Miss Lilly I paused yes Sam your pretty. She got down to Sam and thanked her. I think Daddy like you. Why that little one Lilly asked? Because I herd Daddy told Uncle Jordan that you had nice eyes  like mom and he just sit with you hours.

  They got back to the house and was time for dinner they all sat at long table that was set up outside. Jon Mom got up and said grace. Than they started to tell what each person was thankful for Jon and Harley had sitting next as close as possible. Jon got got up and said he was thankful for family here at not here yet everyone look at him funny and past our small box's to each adult means something that lent something to him. First his mom open box and read the little shirt inside Grandma favorite. Tears came to her eyes dose this mean. She turned to Lilly she nodded yes. Than rest of the table open there gifts and joy started to overflow. Jordan got and hugged his bother so tight and you going to be great Dad and same with you Harley. He look at Lilly and mouthed thank you. Super was finished and with thank you and over joyed feeling Lilly went to sit. Soon a voice she could recognize any where she herded beside her. She looked up hi Joe. You are doing a great thing here Jon and Harley are get men. They are I repelled quietly.

  Lilly you are beautiful inside and out I'm sorry that I just left earlier. Oh Joe she said sweetly. It was like music to his ears. He was about to run a second time but he know why this time he liked her. He sat there a few minutes just looking at her. Joe she said. Yes as look in her beautiful blueish green eyes. You are a good man to you know she paused looking him. I am he looked at her. The way your children are showed me that they love you so much that they will do anything to make you happy she paused. He looked at her with joy and respect. They talk for what felt like hours. Laugh and learning so much about each other when they both realize it's ten at night. She goes to look for the kids meets Jon at the door to family room they all fell asleep while they watching Christmas cartoons together. Lilly and Joe looked in the Family room and saw all children sleeping on the floor. While I will go put mine in the car Joe was saying when Jon stop him. Leave them sleep. How about we all head to kitchen for a cup coffee or water for you little lady he laugh she huffed at him because Jon know that was the hardest part of pregnancy for her.
 
  Lilly loved coffee if not more than Jon. They where all talking the kitchen table. Jon leaned over to Harley and said it look like those to our hitting it off well. I have no problem with them being together if they do like each other do you? Harley shook his head no. Maybe should try to bring them together Harley said. Maybe said Jon they look good together. Well I really should be heading home Joey said. Jon said to Joe stay the night it late I don't mind if you crush in the guest house. Are you sure Jon. Joe said yes that what it for. Lilly was going to collect her purses and call a cab when Harley stopped and asked to stay in the guest house but the kids go enjoy your rest we will watch them in the morning. Jon say oh by the the path is being fixed Joe take long way around. Lilly took the path to the guest house and got in the small house and went to living room area and turned on the tv and started to watch a rerun of 90210 when she herd a voice that she was enjoying all night say they tricked us she looked seeing Joe in the moon light even sexier than she ever thought possible.

  Can I join you in watch this sure she said sitting at the other end of the couch they finished the episode. More time they seemed to spend together the more Joe was sure of it he liked her a lot and he did not want this new friendship to end. He looked up from the show and said I'll sleep out here you need your rest making a human all she laughed. We are adults Joe we can share a bed and not being doing anything wrong. Joe could not help but laugh your sweet but I don't want to be fresh before our first date. Lilly eyes flew open wide. What? she said. Date like go to the movie or dinner? Would be a bad idea Joe said. No I would love that. So a date it is Joe said. But Joe you still don't have to sleep on the couch. He looked her in the eyes said my mother god bless her sole raised me right. While than Joe would your mom be hurt if I kissed you. Joe looked at her and said no. He look at Lilly and placed a soft sweet kiss on the lips. Lilly could have melted right there.

  The next morning there was a soft knock on the door Jon was hoping not walk in on them but he was more than surprised when Joe open the door and there bed in the couch. Jon question lightly was I wrong or was not some thing going on with you Lilly yesterday Joe. Yes Jon he said quietly but I don't just jump into bed with a girl. Ok maybe in my twenties but not now. Can I asks you favor sure Jon says. I want to take Lilly on picnic date this afternoon on the farm where would be  best view.  I will get Harley to drive you to our second favorite spot on the farm one more thing Jon. I can guess can I watch the kids. Shoot I don't have a change of close and neither do the kids. I head in town quick and grab them and my cute date something to wear.
