ALESIA'S ROOM
EVENING
Alesia was sitting on her bed, her head in the middle of her knees with tearful eyes. Alya went in.
Alya - You want to tell me what happened?
Alesia - Scorpius...
Alya looked at Alesia.
Alesia - He... Doesn't want to continue.
Alya - Continue what? Were you two together?
Alesia - No...but...
Alya - But you liked him, and he liked you.
Alesia kept quiet and looked at her mother. Alya smiled sweetly, caressing Alesia's head. Alesia put her head on Alya's lap and laid down.
Alya - I actually have news.
Alesia - What is it?
Alya - I got a promotion.
Alesia looked at her mother, sat back up, and hugged Alya.
Alya - But—
Alesia - Oh no, not the but...
Alya - We have to go live in L.A.
Alesia - What? Moving again?
Alya - I'm sorry, sweetheart, but we both knew when I took this job, this place wasn't going to be our permeant home.
Alesia - I have friends here, and my college, and... Scorpy.
Alya - I understand. I guess I can call and tell them I don't want the position.
Alesia - No! Absolutely not! You've worked for this, way harder than anyone.
Alya - Alesia, you're the most important thing in the world for me. I'll give up my dreams and even my life for you.
Alesia - No!
Alya looked at her.
Alesia - We're going to L.A.
Alya smiled and hugged her daughter.
