our mind is a library of sorts, able to catalog the precise sensation of millions upon millions of scents. distinctive smells - it's as if we live vicariously through these captured moments.
these hidden memories displays themselves as nostalgia: the smell of your mom's rose and gardenia perfume, airy and homely. the cherished aroma of a baked apple strudel, cinnamon and tart. the signature scent of crisp, fresh linen- clean and refreshing.
we associate people with scents - a dictionary of perfumes dedicated to those we love. the reason why we desperately crave the familiar smell and imprint of our boyfriend's hoodie.
kim taehyung would come to find out jisoo smelled like freshly picked raspberries.

taehyung had to admit, he was surprised.
not only had he managed to pull one of those cheesy (but still undeniably sexy) moves you see in the cliché rom-coms, pulling a girl by her waist to save her, he had done it to the one and only kim jisoo.
he studied her face for a moment, the pair of idols a foot away on the steps, neither of them saying a word.
although her face was mostly hidden by the cascading shadows, he was able to make out her doll-like features, adorned by her mouth upturned into a small frown: confused, but a little angry. she looked so small, her petite frame engulfed by her now-dirt-stained hoodie.
taehyung thought back to the first time he had known about her presence. in 2016, blackpink had debuted as killer rookies that were somehow badass yet elegant. it was almost impossible to not know kim jisoo, the strikingly attractive visual with one of the most alluring and husky voices he had ever heard.
today, taehyung had finally heard it in person for the first time, and to say the least, he was blown away.
not that he would ever dare to admit it, but even he of all people was a secret blink. this was the last way he had ever fathomed he would meet her.
"uh...hi! sorry to bother you but could you please open the door?" she squeaked out, wringing her hands nervously, her eyes now focused on the ground.
kim taehyung snapped out of his trance, shaking his head and opening his mouth to utter a greeting. what was he doing? he was here to find namjoon, not to stare at an idol for an unhealthy amount of time. he probably looked like a creep.
"hi jisoo-ssi." he laughed shyly, rubbing the back of his head with his hand.
taehyung mentally slapped himself. "so that's why she was coming up the stairs. she's probably here to pick up something." he thought, hurriedly opening the door, and gesturing an open hand towards the store.
she gave him a warm smile, her eyes crinkling at the corners as she walked in.
taehyung couldn't tell if he was momentarily struck by her smile, or by the cool blast of the air conditioner that had just blown into his face.
"what brings you here taehyung-ssi?" she asked, grabbing a plastic basket, her saint laurent espadrilles making soft steps on the small cream-tiles of the shop. "midnight cravings maybe?" she looked in his direction.
he made his way into the small store, trailing a few steps behind jisoo. holy shit, was she actually talking to him?
"oh, nothing much. i'm just... looking for a friend!" he replied, his throat suddenly parched.
