Four years later
"Bryce, we have to go!" I yell from the bottom of the stairs. "I'm coming, woman, patients!" He yells back, walking down the stairs. "I can't tie this tie." I chuckle and tie it for him, "there. You look very nice." "Why do we have to go to this banquet again?" He asks me. "Because, I told all of the women I'd bring my lovely husband with me, and I don't lie. "Fine, but you owe me," he replies. "Childish," I mutter under my breath. "You should try and talk quieter, I'm a wolf remember?" He states. "And I'm not childish." 'Why is our mate so weird?' I chuckle at my wolf, 'you tell me, you have conversations with his wolf every night, and don't deny it because I can feel it.' 'He's as weird as Bryce' 'well, they are one in the same.' "What's got you smiling so big?" Bryce asks me as we drive to the house that the banquet is taking place at. "Nothing, just talking to Jade," I tell him. "'Bout what?" He asks. "You," I answer. "What about me?" He questions. "You're not allowed to know," I reply. He huffs, "fine. You're lucky you're my wife and I love you." "And what would you do if I wasn't?" I challenge. He opens his mouth to say something, but stops. "Mhm, that's what I thought," I state triumphantly. "Why'd I get such a smart-aleck mate?" He asks himself. "Talking to yourself makes you look bad, Bryce," I state. He fake laughs, "very funny, Kylie." I smile, "I know."
We arrive and people greet us cheerfully. I hear Bryce growl lowly in his chest. "What?" I ask. He wraps his arm around my waist, "unmated males are staring at you. You're mine." "Calm down, love. They're nothing compared to you anyways," I tell him. He seems to calm down a bit, but he still eyes them challengingly.
"hey, Kylie, Bryce, glad you could make it!" My closest friend, Emma, greets. "Hey, Emma, glad we could come. Um, I need to talk to you when you get the chance. Privately," I tell here. "I can now," she states. "Okay, can we go to your room?" I ask and she nods. I go to walk off, and Bryce starts to follow, but I stop him, "I'll tell you later, I promise. I just need to talk to her right now." He looks at me worriedly, "is everything okay?" I nod and give him a reassuring smile, "everything is fine. Go talk to your friends." With that, Emma and I walk up to her room.
"what's up?" She asks after shutting the door and sitting on her bed. I block Bryce from my mind, because I know he'd try to listen. "Please-don't freak out," I tell her, sitting across from her. She nods. "And you can't tell anyone, I have to tell them," I add. She nods again. I take a deep breath, "I'm pregnant." "You're what?" She exclaims. "I told you, I'm going to have a baby," I repeat. She grins, "you haven't told Bryce yet? Oh, he's going to be ecstatic! You need to tell him when you get home tonight, promise me you will." I smile, "I promise. But since, neither Bryce nor I have siblings, I want you to be her aunt." "Her?" She asks. I nod, "yep, it's a girl." Her smile widens, if that's even possible, "yes, I'll be her aunt! Have you decided what to name her yet?" "I will after I tell Bryce," I answer. She nods, "I understand that. Oh, I'm so excited, she's going to be so cute!" I hope Bryce is happy.

"Can you tell me, now, what you and Emma went to talk about?" Bryce asks me as we lie in bed after the banquet. "Promise you won't be mad or freak out?" I ask him. "Depends," he replies, turning on his side to face me. "How would you feel if I said you're going to be a daddy?" I ask. "Kylie, are you saying-" "yes, I'm pregnant!" I interrupt. He lies back on the bed, looking at the ceiling, "I'm going to be a daddy. Is it a boy or a girl?" I lay my head on his chest, "a girl." "Have you picked out a name yet?" He asks. "I wanted to choose it with you, after I told you," I tell him. "Piper," he states. "I want her name to be Piper Marie, Marie after my mom. Unless you don't like it." I smile, "I love it. But, you're not mad?" He turns on his side so we're facing each other, "no, I'm feel like I'm the luckiest man alive. I just-I wish my parents were here." I snuggle closer to him, "I know, Bryce. I wish mine were here too, that they would've accepted me. But then, if they had, we wouldn't be here now." He nods, "you're right. I bet our baby will be as smart, and as beautiful as you." "Yeah, but I bet she'll be a daddy's girl. In fact I know she will," I reply, placing a hand on my stomach. He places his hand on top of mine, "I'm going to protect her, I'm going to be one of those over protective dads and send her out in bubble wrap and not let any guys be around her." I chuckle, "yes, I can see that." "And you'll be the person she goes to when she has her first break up, while I'm beating the crap out of him. Then, she'll find the perfect guy, which will be her mate, and he'll love her, and care for her, and keep her safe," he states. "Yes, Bryce, it'll be just like that, and I can't wait to have it," I respond and he kisses my forehead. "I love you," he says. "I love you too," I reply. And I do, with all of my heart.
