(Narrators POV)
Alex walked out into the quad. Her backpack sling over her shoulders and her headphones blasting music in her ears. She had exactly 7 minutes to get to her next class, which was drama class. It was in the main building all the way across campus. She was in not rush to be anywhere. School was just a place to go that was better than home.
Even though she was barely passing her classes, there was one thing keeping her from dropping out.
Jade.
She was the light at the end of the tunnel for Alex. The only person in the school who took a chance on her when no one else would. They became friends at the beginning of junior year, so they haven't known each other long. From her short cut honey brown hair to her prescription glasses to her spunky style of clothing. She was perfect.
But in the 6 months they've known each other Alex developed feelings for her. Not that she wanted to. The last thing she wanted to do was ruin the one relationship with a person she's ever had on her feelings. It wasn't worth it.
She pulls out her phone and checks the time. 4 minutes. I have time. She stops by a tree and stands under it while checking Instagram. She scrolls on her feed only to stop on a photo of Jade. To Alex, she looked beautiful. As usual.
(Alex's POV)
I feel an extra weight on my shoulders, and see arms wrapped around me. My headphones are then removed and I hear a soothing voice say, "whatcha listening to?" I look over and see Jade with a smirk plastered across her face. She puts the headphones on, waits a second, then starts humming the tune to "house of memories" by P!ATD. She takes them off and hangs them around her neck.
"Yo, what's up?" I can't help myself from smiling like an idiot. My eyes were connected with hers, seeing her brown hazel eyes sparkle.
"You know we have like 3 minutes to get to class, right?" She motions to the main building.
I sigh. "You see, I know we have to be there in 3 minutes, I just dint want to go." She fools her eyes at me while dragging me in the direction of the main building. I then realized she was holding my hand. I totally checked out. It was all I could focus on. God what I would give for her to be my girlfriend. But she would never feel the same way. Would she.
Suddenly, we came to a stop. She let's go of my hand and I'm snapped back into reality. I am greeted my Jade looking at me with a confused look. I give one straight back to her. "Im sorry, huh?" Stupid.
"I said," she started. "Well, I was wondering if-if you... ugh screw it." Next thing I know I feel lips collide with my own. Realization hit me, and I immediately kissed back. Our kiss is interrupted by the bell for next period ringing, signaling the beginning of class. I look at her to find her starring back at me, and we both laugh.
We let go of each other, and I immediately ask, "So, what does this make us?" I hope that kiss meant what I thought it meant.
"Well," she started. "I hope it means we can be... more than friends." My heart is immediately filled with joy and I smile the biggest smile I have in years.
"Is that even a question? Of course." She lets out a breath, looking very relieved. I look down and hold out my hand. She takes it, and we walk into the main building.
Hope you enjoyed. This is in a way something that is happening in my life, except we're not together, but you know, it might happen!!!!
