I Dream of You

Prologue

I never knew how I arrived to this situation.

The sound of the river, the chirping of the birds, the whistling of the wind. The vast field before my eyes. Naramdaman kong ibinaba niya ang mga pagkain sa lamesa.

"Your dinner," he said. I only stared at him, bewildered on how immaculately handsome he is but behind that look is the dark truth of how we ended up here.

"Hindi ako gutom." I replied. He sighed when he heard that. He clenched his jaw surpressing his anger. He looked at me with those angry eyes as if I had done things against his will.

"You need to atleast fill your stomach." the gentle voice did not escape, very opposite to his appearance right now.

Para mabawasan na ang pag-uusap ay dahan-dahan kong kinuha ang kubyertos at kumain. Hindi pa rin mawala sa aking isipan ang lahat ng pangyayari na nagdaan sa nakaraang buwan. The voice of my parents keeps ringing on my head. Unconsciously, my tears started falling.

"Ungrateful child! Wala kang kwenta! Sanang hindi nalang ikaw ang naging anak namin!"

What my father said keeps echoing on my ears. Iyon ang huling salita na aking narinig mula sa aking ama bago ako lumayas sa amin. Before moving out, I saw how mom fainted trying to stop me but I cannot do anything because my father ordered his men to escort me immediately out of our mansion. I could not do anything. My mind went blank as I walked away from our house, not knowing what to do as the picture of my mom fainting keeps on replaying on my mind.

I stopped eating when a sobbed escaped from my mouth. I cannot hold it in. It's too much. The emotion I felt was so strong that I need to let it out. I cried in pain. Remembering all what happened only triggered my tears to fall down more. Darkness filled my mind. And my heart.

Napansin kong tumabi sa akin ang aking kasama. I looked into his eyes. The eyes I once loved. The eyes of the only person I have ever loved. The eyes of the man who brought me into this situation. The eyes of the culprit behind this darkness. The eyes of the man I once dreamed.
