It was not cool, I was being pushed around by these bigger, bulkier kids. I had gotten into this fight by retorting when one of these kids had tried to humiliate me in class. They made fun of me in class, but I had gotten the better of them, and I fell into the position I'm in now.
I had to get out of this position, like now. So I quickly took out my pencil and said, "Medieval glass activate".
The next few moments were a blur, the glass, on my head, a sleek black pair of glasses, more like goggles than glasses, booted up.
It then said,"Medieval glass activated, challenge given."
A chorus of voices from the other bullies glasses came out. They all chorused, "Challenge given, from Joseph Kinderly."
All the bullies hesitated, because if they didn't accept the match they would lose a battle point. Battle points are points that are given out If you win a match of Medieval glass.
Unwillingly they accepted.
The glasses muttered in turn, "The battle starts in 5 seconds."
At that moment, something amazing happened. The utensils, like necklaces, pencils, and erasers turned into weapons.
The pencil in Joseph's hand turned into a sword, which was 3 feet long, sleek dark grey, and tapered at around 3 and a half feet. It was magnificent. Around Joseph there were 5 bullies, two were holding swords, one a mace, and two held a spear.
These weapons, could only be seen through the a glass that anyone was wearing. To the casual onlooker, It seemed as if the 9th graders were play fighting with pens and pencils, but only the people wearing glass knew the difference.
The match was 5 on one, so Joseph started with 500% health, a huge amount, compared to the bullies puny 100%. There were five bullies, so that is why this happened.
I then tried to hit one of the bullies with my sword. It went straight through him, not causing him any physical damage, but taking 20% of his health.
"20% health taken from Drake Colby." My Medieval glass proclaimed.
I then launched into a series of moves at lightspeed. I quickly bent down, and slashed at my opponents leg, taking another 30% of his health. Then I finished it off with a jab to his heart. My Medieval glass said that I had defeated Drake, and that I had gained 4 battle points. It also said that I had suffered only 5% damage from Drake's spear. It had grazed me when I dropped down to slash his legs.
I watched as Drake's spear slowly turned back into a pen, and he slowly walked away. Cheering for his friends.
I had to be careful. I had only defeated one opponent, because I had caught him by surprise.
Then the bullies went on the offensive, and it was my turn to block. With a series of blocks, parries, and dodges I escaped. With only 20% damage.
First I dodged a hit from a smaller bully, then another, and another, but it was the biggest bully's mace that hit me. I think his name was, Dennis Alexandria or something, but he was just swinging his mace around for a few seconds, then "Bam", went the mace. Catching me off guard. It cost me 20% health.
I then realized that it would be impossible to beat them without a plan. So I came up with one. Divide and Conquer.
I turned around at the bullies and shouted verbal sallies at one of them. He got angry, and came running at me. I quickly. Stood still, with my sword protruding out. He ran right into it, and it was a one hit KO.
The following opponents were harder to beat, I tricked two kids into slicing each other, and attacked the last one with a volley of cuts, slices and swings. He was the hardest to beat, he was armed with a staff, and had a huge advantage, but I jumped over a thrust he aimed at my feet, to make me fall down, and I took action. Sliced hime thrice, and with one final thrust I ended the fight.
The bullies left me, and I also earned 13 points. It was an unlucky number, but I didn't care. Points are different for different people. I earned 4 points for knocking out Drake, but none for another Dennis. This was to ensure that the best players cannot pick on beginners to earn points.
I left the hall, hurrying to my class. I reached there 5 minutes late, and the teacher made me stand outside of the classroom for half the period. I just stood there, and acted like nothing had happened. This behavior only earned me a few irritated glances from Mr. Plum, but it was fine by me, he hated me anyway. This was probably due to an incident that happened long ago.
One day, I was peacefully sitting in chemistry class and Mr.Plum was passing out test papers. He finally got to me, and looked at me. His eyes were ferocious, and I could barely see them through the medieval glass, but I knew what was going to happen. He was going to lecture me about how bad my grades were, and my potential. I was a straight C student, but he says that I could do better if I just concentrated. I was finally fed up with him, and I replied, talking in a careless manner, and criticizing his teaching. By the time I realized what was happening, He shouted get out of my classroom, harshly at my face. I was scared, and quickly exited the classroom. It was a relief though, that he never pressed it to superior authorities such as the principle.
He finally called me into the classroom, and asked me why I was late. I said it was because I had used the bathroom, and he let me sit down.
The reason why I am targeted by bullies, is because I am the school champion at medieval glass. That is also the reason why Mr.Plum scolds me about my studies. I practice a ton of medieval glass, but I barely ever study. His logic is that because I am good at medieval glass I can be smart. He has this weird thought, that I am smart, so I succeed in Medieval glass.
I spent the rest of the class racking my brain for the atomic mass of various elements, such as mercury and uranium. After the class, the bell rang, and it was time for lunch.
I ate a quick lunch and sped to the library, I wanted to find a medieval glass handbook, with lists of spells. I wanted to find the perfect spell, to buy on ebay. A fire spell. The one that I had seen ealier, while passing by a card shop.
Spells, are cards, which your medieval glass accepts, and allows you to use, to build your game. You can only use them in official matches, like tournaments. You can use them in any tournament, that is registered with the Medieval glass internet association. MGIA for short.
After finding the spell, I browsed through the book, and wasted the rest of my recess. After the bell rang. I quickly got up from the chair I was sitting in and mentally noted down the book. Its title was " The Guardians Handbook for a Medieval glass" .
After recess, classes passed by in a breeze.
The last period, was math. The only subject I was good at, probably because their was barely anything to memorize.
Finally, the bell rang and I sped out of the classroom. I was heading for the gym.
As I reached the gym. I opened the doors, just in time to see the platform rise. It was a mass of metal, and it rose directly out of the floor. I quickly booted up my glass, to witness the platform through my glass.
