CHAPTER 3

Jack
"Next." I heard a woman's voice call out inside the office and realised it was my turn to enter. I lifted myself up from the chair I've been sitting on the past thirty minutes and headed for the door.

"Morning Mam...morning Sir?" I greeted the pair I find inside the room." My name is Jack Brown I'm here for the job interview as well."

"Hello Jack." They both said simultaneously.

"I'm Dylan Castillo and this is my PA Janet Nkosi." Said the man as he receives my file with a CV. "So I see you were in the army for the past five years?" He asked lifting his left eyebrow.

"Yes sir that's true." I replied with a poker face.

"Would you tell us more about your in context of what you learnt in the army Mr Brown?" His PA said with a smile on her face.

"Firstly my number one priority is to protect what's in my possession and no matter what it is either territory or someone. I can tell you also that I am a brave person who doesn't feel any fear towards any situation which means anything with me is as good as safe." I told her with confidence and a chuckle is all I got from Mr Castillo after those words.

"I can see here that you brought the Prime Minister Dr Nkabinde back home safe and sound on your last mission as a soldier, so tell us why you resigned after an impeccable achievement?" Mr Castillo asked with a concerned face.

"You'll be the first ones to know the real reason why I resigned beside my family, I had some personal issues to face against which concerned someone I love and I had to protect." I told him with an anxious look waiting for his reaction towards what I just told them. He just smiled and said that's all for my interview he will call me if I got the job of being the bodyguard of his daughter.

Sasha

It's around four afternoon now I've been watching TV since I had breakfast. Saying I'm bored would be a complete understatement. Dad filled our house with bodyguards in black so I decided to watch TV to avoid them. I heard the door opening so quickly turned to face it as my father enters the lounge.

"Guess what princess... I found the perfect bodyguard for you." He said with a low laugh.

"Really... When can I meet her?" I said not really thinking why I said her.

"Actually Sasha it's a he. His name is Jack Brown and he's a former soldier of the South African army." He smiled at me as he spoke.

"Really Dad a soldier. How would I keep up with a strict person like you're not enough for that." I retorted

"Your relationship with him doesn't matter as long as my baby girl is safe." He said with his strict voice. "He will be here tonight make sure you cooperate with him to make his job easier."

"Ok Dad I just hope we get along." I said reaching for ringing phone. Amy is calling me I wonder what she wants so I quickly answer it. "Hello Amy."

"Hey Sasha what are you doing tonight my sister's engagement party is today would you come with me please I wouldn't like to be alone Felix cancelled just now I've got no one else friend please."

Wow what do I say now my Dad won't allow me for sure. Why did she have to love that Felix after all. What kind of a boyfriend cancelled just hours before the occasion. I decided to give myself in to my dad " Dad can I go to Amy's house tonight her sister is getting engaged." I asked my father before answering her.

"Sasha...." He called

However I cut him before he could finish his sentence. "You can give me as many bodyguards as you want, I just want to help my friend please?" I said pulling my hands together towards my chest to show how sincere I was.

"Ok you can go and you will be back by nine." He gave in and I don't know what made him approve.

"It's Ok Amy I will come." I answered back to Amy before I thanked my father. She seemed happy after I agreed to go to her sister's engagement party.

"The area will be well guarded I will make sure of that." My Dad said after I hung up the call with Amy.

"No problem as long as I get to be there Dad." I said leaving him behind heading to my room so I can get ready for the party.

"Thank you sir I'll be there." I said as I cut the call.

"Who was that?" I heard mom ask whom I didn't know she was at home.

"Ain't you supposed to be at the charity event you are hosting today?" I asked her ignoring what she said.

"Jack don't change the subject just tell me who made my one and only son happy besides his family more especially his mom because I can see that whoever you were on the phone with made told you good news so out with it?" She couldn't hide her amused face as she spoke.

"Ok mom today Mitch is getting engaged and I got the job at the Castillo mansion so why can't I be happy mom." I smiled at her.

"In deed that's great news son so when are you leaving for the job."

"Unfortunately tonight mom...it's like they really needed someone soon I'm sorry mom I have to leave like this."

"I'm not fond of it but you got to do your job that you love the most son." She said with a single tear fall from her left eye. "Take care of yourself Jack and make sure you find me a daughter in law out there."

"Oh mom don't worry about me. As for your daughter in law I kinda don't know Mrs Brown." I said to her before I leave for my room.
