Lover's Quarrel

Intro

Milanie~ Growing up in Southern Mississippi as a only child, Milanie knew at a young age she wanted to be a successful black business owner. Watching her parents who ran a drug store for 15 years showed her what hard work and determination would get her. At the age of 12 she started working in the family business. Little did she know, that would be the age she would have to grow up fully. Her mother Le'anne died from cervical cancer, months after Milanie started working. Faced with the harsh reality that her mother was gone, Milanie became lost, as the family business slowly started to fail. Her father Jacob had become a drunk drowning the death of his wife. Leaving young Milanie to run the business until they were forced to shut down. Milanie finished high school while working 3 jobs throughout her senior year. Saving in order to go to college in D.C. . Her second year into college her father became ill with colon cancer. Forced to drop out of college and start working again, Milanie moved back home to care for her sick father.

Troy~ growing up less fortunate in New Orleans, Troy had the drive to become something. Out of his 6 siblings, Troy was the only one who went to college determined to be successful. His mother who was a heavy drug user left him and his siblings in the care of their abusive father & never looked back. All throughout high school Troy worked in order to be able to take care of his family. Graduating magna cum laude from Howard University, Troy took a step of faith and opened his first restaurant in New Orleans, named Marie's Spot. Opening 3 more restaurants in two years, Troy had everything he imagined. Except someone to share it with.
