A whoosh of wind passed through the neighborhood. Lily sat outside with a soccer ball by her feet. In her hands were her sketchbook and her 2H drawing pencil. Tuning out the rest of the world, she let her hand draw freely over the blank page. Twenty minutes later, two faces emerged: a boy and a girl's. Lily smiled. The sketch was coming along nicely. Being outside inspired her to create a beautiful background--a gorgeous meadow with beautiful flowers.

A couple of hours later, Lily had her finished drawing. It had taken her a while but she had gotten all the details down and even added color in. The result was a lifelike scene of two fraternal twins having a picnic in a meadow.

Lily considered her finished masterpiece. It was probably one of her best works yet. Grinning, she closed up her sketchbook and headed inside to have dinner.

*********

"Lily, honey, we're going hiking today on Blossom Trail. Can you be ready in forty minutes?" her mom asked.

"Yeah sure. I'll pack my stuff now," Lily answered and made a beeline for her room. She tossed her sketchbook, drawing pencils and all of her hiking essentials into her silver backpack. At her mom's "Lily?", she rushed down the stairs and yelled, "Coming!"

It was late in the afternoon when Lily decided to bring out her sketchbook again. Just when she had flipped to a blank page, movement at the edge of her vision caught her eye. She looked up and her jaw dropped. No way. Just no way. This was not possible.

Swallowing, Lily quickly looked down. Calm down Lily, you're obviously mental. You are hallucinating the entire thing. This is what happens when you don't get enough sleep. Because there was no way that the fraternal twins from her sketchbook appeared in front of her in real life.

Yet there was no denying what was in front of her. Gathering her courage and her sketchbook, Lily hurried over to the laughing twins. "Hello, I'm Lily and this is going to sound really strange but I drew you guys yesterday on my front porch." she blurted out.

"I'm Chase and she's Fiona. What do you mean you drew us yesterday?" the blond-haired boy asked after a minute.

"Um, I guess the best way to explain would be to show you." Lily bit her lip before flipping her sketchbook to her piece from yesterday. The twins' reactions were expected: "Oh my god! What? How?"

"I, uh, have no idea. I was just sitting outside and let my mind wander...um...yeah?" Lily answered uncertainly.

"So you just draw whatever comes to your head?" Fiona questioned. At Lily's nod, she whistled. "Alright then. I really don't know what to say to the fact that a random person got inspired and drew us."

Lily flushed in embarrassment. "Well, I think it's pretty cool. Has this ever happened to you before?" Chase wondered.

"Not that I've noticed. I mean I've drawn stuff like landscapes and come across similar things before but never something like this." said Lily.

"How often do you draw?" Fiona asked. When Lily responded with, "Every day", she whistled again. Flipping through her sketchbook, Lily showed the twins the rest of her drawings. The twins praised her work, making Lily blush furiously again. She was as red as a tomato.

"Well I think we can consider your drawing as an unlikely coincidence." Chase said, leaning back against the tree. Fiona and Lily nodded, grinning at each other. "Well, now that we figured that out, I'm going to return to my family. It was really nice to meet you two." Lily said, extending her hand to the twins to shake. They shook her hand, smiling, and waved as she walked back to where her family was dozing in the sun.
