Light murmurs were heard throughout the lively restaurant. On the far left were Vito and Valentina seated, away from the large windows. It was a Friday night and Vito and Valentina decided on dining out for a change of pace. While they waited for their food to arrive, Valentina talked about her day. Vito let her ramble on, enjoying the sound of her voice.

''Vito?''

He only hummed as his mind was somewhere else. A notion popped up in his head. One he never considered in his life.

Valentina gave him a look, ''You're not even listening.''

An amused smile tugged on his lips, ''I got distracted for a second.''

Valentina didn't comment any further on it. She shied away from his piercing gaze. A blush spreading across her cheeks. She might never get used to the feeling of having all his attention on her. The thudding of her heart became louder when he took hold of her hand and left the chaste of a kiss on her knuckles.

''Tell the rest. I'll listen,''

Once again, Vito had proven Valentina that she couldn't know what to expect from him.

The waitress came up to their table and put the food in front of them. Valentina salivated at the seafood dishes and dug in. After they finished eating dinner, Vito beckoned for the waitress to come over.

''Can I have the bill, please?''

''I'll get it right away, Sir.'' She said and left.

''Thank you for bringing me here. It was delicious!'' Valentina smiled.

He let out a low chuckle, ''I gathered that much by the way you were eating. We can come here another time.''

Valentina's expression turned into one of horror. The light pink colour making its return on her face.

Upon getting the bill handed to him and paying up, the couple left the restaurant. Instead of going straight to their home, they strolled around the city. Walking the busy shopping streets as Valentina held onto his arm.

''Camila called the other day. They are having another baby.''

Vito raised his eyebrows, ''So soon? Marco isn't even one year old. They're going to have their hands full like this.''

She shrugged, ''It won't be too big a problem. Camila has the patience to raise two little ones. I don't know if I can say the same about your brother though.''

''And I doubt he will learn it now.''

The two of them passed by a jewellery store. Vito's eyes lingered for the slightest second on the displayed rings. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Valentina moving to look at him. In the nick of time, Vito ripped his eyes from the jewellery preventing her from catching him. He wanted to keep it secret for a little longer.

Silver would compliment her eyes.

The door swung open and Camila greeted Valentina and Vito with a welcoming smile. She urged them to come inside and informed her husband about their arrival.

''I'm so glad you two could make it,'' Camila said as she hugged Valentina.

''We would've come earlier, but Vito's and my schedule weren't matching up,'' Valentina pulled back and smiled apologetically.

In comparison to Valentina, Vito wasn't particularly close to Camila. With a tight smile, Vito congratulated her on her pregnancy and moved on to the seating room where his brothers were.

Valentina and Camila continued their conversation in the hallway before joining the men. She didn't miss Camila regularly touching her belly.

''How far are you along?''

''Three months,'' Camila's smile was radiant as she looked down, ''I can't wait for Marco to have a little sister.''

Valentina raised an eyebrow at her, ''A girl? How do you know? You're still twelve weeks along.''

Camila sighed softly, ''I know, but I'm really hoping for a girl. It would be adorable if Marco had a little sister. I can already imagine it!''

Meanwhile, Vito sat with Enzo and Damian near the fireplace. Vito glanced at Damian holding their nephew and noted the wistful look in his eyes.

It had already been a decade since Damian lost his wife and son in a car crash. He had never quite recovered from it. Damian lived in the past. His home was left in the way his late wife decorated it and the wedding ring never left its place.

Only in recent years, Damian started having a more positive outlook on life. A big step in the right direction. It was his brothers who he had to thank for that. Damian's biggest enemy was his alcohol addiction. Vito strongly discouraged his drinking habits and it often resulted in fights between the two brothers. Damage control was the only thing Vito could do. When Vito reconnected with Graziano, he informed him about their brother's downfall. During the time of Vito's imprisonment, Graziano helped Damian get rid of his addiction. Afterwards, Enzo kept a close eye on Damian so he wouldn't get into a relapse.

''He's so peaceful,'' Damian said making Enzo scoff.

''Yeah, yeah, you only say that because he's sleeping. That little devil never lets me sleep.''

Vito turned his head sideways, wondering why Valentina hadn't come yet.

Enzo followed Vito's gaze, ''They'll come. Probably catching up with each other. Once Camila starts talking about the baby she doesn't stop.''

''What are your plans with her?'' Damian asked Vito.

''Plans on what?''

''Don't play dumb,'' Enzo's laugh died down when he saw the deadly look on Vito's face, ''Oh, come one, don't look at me like that, Vito. You're not here as my Don. You're here as my brother.''

The frown on Vito disappeared as he sighed.

Damian spoke up again, ''You're not planning on letting Valentina go, right? She stayed during all those years.''

''I'm telling you, she is a keeper,'' Enzo said.

Vito felt like rolling his eyes, ''I don't need you two to tell me that. I'm planning on proposing to her.''

Enzo expression morphed into shock. He didn't think he would actually see the day when Vito would settle down, ''Really? When?''

''Hopefully sooner rather than later.''

Proposing to Valentina wasn't something he thought lightly of. He had been thinking about it a lot. In the past two months, Valentina had been working non-stop. Getting the timing right proved to be an unexpectedly tricky factor in doing his proposal.

A few minutes later, Valentina and Camila entered the living room. Vito had his arm around her shoulder. Valentina couldn't help but blush a little at his possessive gesture. She leaned a little into his side for comfort.

''What were you talking about?'' Camila asked her husband.

Enzo smirked, ''I'll tell you later.''

With no answer from Enzo, Valentina looked at Vito for one. He merely shook his head at her, saying it was nothing important.
