you open a set of glossy, darkwood double doors and step into a long hallway.
the floor is made of shining grey tile, and the walls are lined with marble pillars and octocoral windows. purple and mauve curtains adorned with feathers and beads cover the windows, turning everything into a beautiful lavander shade. statues of dragons and other mythical beasts are set on podiums at regular intervals along the hall.
you take off your jacket, which is soaking from the rain outside. you can still hear the thunder, but it's quieter now that you're inside. the jacket is hung on a coat rack, already heavy with other coats.
as you walk along the hall, you lift a gloved hand to brush a piece of ivy hanging from the pillars. morning glories, too, are decorating the tall column. murals are painted on some of the walls, great roses and birds swooping from the hallway with iridescent wings and pretty tails.
you duck into one of the many waiting rooms and are met with a flourish of other guests, all with their own amazing outfits and masks. the waiting room itself is large, with a domed roof and many paintings hanging from the walls. Seats are lined along the walls and throughout the room, each with dark wine red cushions and oak wood legs.
a girl with an indigo swan mask lined with feathers and sequins taps you on the shoulder. she motions to the seat next to you, a question in her half-smiling lips. you nod and she sits next to you, arranging her midnight blue dress.
now you are merely waiting for the announcement and your date.
barely five minutes go by before a person carrying a microphone steps into the room. they have on a cream dress, an ivory-white jacket, and a rose-gold tie. a pretty light gold choker hangs around their neck, only a few shades off from the splendid cat mask they have on their face. only a few sequins are present, replaced instead by glossy whiskers and pearl-white paint.
they smile at everyone, dark wine-red lips contrasting caramel skin, and begin to talk.
"hello and welcome to wattpad prom! follow the valets, everyone, they will lead you to the central room."
they beckon with a gloved hand, and people stand up, murmurs beginning to cascade from dozens of mouths. you rise as well, adjusting your mask so it's at the correct angle.
the central room is gorgeous, large windows alongside wonderful oil paintings. the walls are made of light pink granite, speckled with dark grey, and the floor is dark oak wood that shines in the chandelier's light.
small couches are placed around the room, red velvet and midnight blue. tables are covered in food and drink, small pies, quiches, mini cakes and more. people are already whispering about spiking the punch, prompting you to take a mental note.
you step inside, feeling small, and yet somehow large, as if the sheer grandiose of the room has seeped into you, lighting you up from the inside. looking around, you see everyone else looks excited and stunning as well. the masks are ranging from a simple half-mask with sequins to a person dressing up as what seems to be the mad hatter, with a steampunk-style hat and a mask dripping with feathers.
you see the cat-masked person hand in hand with another person, laughing and chatting happily, as many others are.
heels click on the wooden floor, chatter fills the room, and the first note of music starts.

the games will run for an hour, stop for thirty minutes, then run for another hour. it will work like this the whole day so that admins can get breaks in between the activities. remember, admins won't respond to your game requests immediately. they have their own timezones and yes, they have to sleep. i'm not letting my admins pull all nighters. ( don't you guys d a r e pull an all nighter )
