Keep Moving Forward

Part one

"Clem! Stay where you are! I—" the ice cracked beneath luke, "I'm okay, I'm gonna be alright." Clem looked at luke with a scared face and tears in her eyes.
"Go clem go help him!" Bonnie yelled at clem. She looked to Bonnie then luke, "No! No clem. Don't!" Luke yelled, but clem took a step towards him.

"Clem! Don't!" He yelled in an attempt to get her to stop. But Bonnie kept yelling, "Clem help him!" So she slowly took more steps towards him.
She finally got close enough to grab him when the ice broke under them, Luke and clem falling through the ice and into the cold water.

It happened so fast she couldn't process what happened for a moment. She hit at the ice in a futile attempt to escape. Then she felt something grab her foot, she looked down.
A walker had both arms around her leg and foot. She screamed but it was drowned out by water, bubbles of air came from her mouth.
She kicked and kicked at the walker and it finally let go. She swam to where she and luke fell through, when a walker was right in front of her. Luke came up and put it in a head lock and kicked it away.

A hand came through the entrance and pulled clem out, she coughed and sat up. "Luke!" She screamed then not a second later luke came up.
Water splashing everywhere, the ice he used to push himself up creaked but didn't crack.
He pulled himself up before the walker could grab him again. He panted and panted. "I'm alright, I'm alright clem."

When they got off the Ice she hugged him, and he hugged back. "Come on you two," bonnie said, "we gotta get y'all inside."
Clem Held Luke's Hand and they ran as fast as they could to the cabin. When they entered they were shivering clem let go of Luke's hand and wrapped her arms around herself.

"C'mon, you're gonna freeze to death." Bonnie said to both clementine and luke, lightly pushing them to the fireplace.
She took Clem's jacket off of her and they sat right in front of it, Luke looked to clem with worry on his face. She just shivered and leaned against him. Then everything went dark.

She woke up, her clothes all warm and dry her hair still a little damp. "You're awake," luke said, "you hungry?"
He held out a can of beans to her as she leaned up. "Yeah," she smiled and gladly took it. "What about you?" She looked to him, he smiled, " you need it more than I do. Besides I already had some." She smiled and started eating.

"Clem," she Heard Kenny's voice from behind her, "feeling better?" She smiled, "yeah." He smiled back, But sighed.
"Hell of a day, but we gotta keep moving. If you're feeling up to it I could use a hand out back with the truck." Her Smile Faltered, "Yeah, sure Kenny."
Luke gave her a worried look but smiled when she looked at him, "go on ahead, I'll be waiting for you when you get back." So she stood up and walked out with Kenny.

"What'd they say back there. I know they said something." Kenny went on, "they're always saying something."
She looks to Kenny, "they didn't say anything. It's okay Kenny." When we reached the car he turned towards clem and sighed, "what happened, it's over. But AJ needs us now. We gotta stick together on this thing, all right?"

Clem looks away in thought and Kenny sighs. "Come on, let's see if the trucks's gonna go."
He hands her the keys, then he opened the hood while clem got in. Kenny went on about his dad and Jane, but she listened. She knew that he needed to talk so she talked with him while he was fixing the truck.

"Alright, turn it again." She turned the key over and it made a clicking sound, but it didn't start up. "Did you turn it?" He yelled. "Yes," she yelled back.
"God damn it!" He kicked the truck and turned his back towards her. "Are you okay Kenny?" She asked nervously.
"We gotta keep moving if we're gonna keep AJ alive. We're running out of time." He turned towards the truck, "I gotta get this thing to start." He sighed, "gonna try warming up the battery."
He then turned toward clem, "go on inside, I don't like leaving him with that girl." She got out of the car, her look lingering on Kenny for a few seconds, but continuing to walk towards the house.

When she closed the door behind her she heard footsteps, they were fast and approaching her. She looked up from where she was looking and it was luke.
"Hey," he said excitedly, "c'mon let's go sit by the fire." He waited for clem to walk up to him then as she did, walked beside her to the fireplace.

"Can you believe that boy is alive? It's amazing." He asked clem when they sat down. "Yeah." She smiled, "Kenny said Rebecca wanted to name him Alvin junior, so we're calling him AJ."
He looked at her a little bit of sorrow on his face, "yeah, yeah good call. They would've loved that." He smiled at her.
"Do you think we'll make it through the winter?" Clem asked a little worried. "Of course, as long as we got each other we can make it through anything." He exclaimed. They smiled together, then they heard the truck start.

"He got it working!" Clem smiled, and looked out the window. "He sure did," Luke chuckled in disbelief. Everyone ran outside to meet with Kenny. Clem could hear that another argument was going to start and sighed.
"Don't worry about them, we'll get out of here soon. And hopefully somewhere warm," he smiled. "Yeah," clem agreed. She could hear Kenny yelling, and could tell he wasn't happy, " I'm going to go check on him."
"O-okay, please be careful. You never know with Him." He mentioned, clem gave him a thoughtful look then walked outside.

She walked passed mike on the way. "You better talk some sense into him." He said angrily, then his expression changed, "for his sake." She just looked at him and walked to the truck.
She could hear him yelling from the outside. She opened the door and saw he had his hands around his face. "Get the fuck out of here," He waved his hand to shoo her away. "Kenny it's me." She exclaimed.
"Oh clem, sorry just give me a second," he fixed his gauze then looked through the corner of his eye to tell clem, "close the door."

He vented about how none of them agreed with him, then talked about AJ, and Lee. "We gotta convince them, you and me. Look, we'll figure everything out in the morning."
He opened the truck door, "C'mon let's get some sleep. So we gotta be ready." He got out and closed it. She watched him walk away for a moment in the mirror then got out herself.

She walked back to the house with Kenny, opening the door. She walked out to the fireplace and sat next to luke, "hey clem, how'd it go?"
She yawned, "exhausting, I don't know what to do half the time." She frowned. Luke's face had a flash of worry then he wrapped his arm around her in a hug, "it's okay, not everyone has answers to everything."

"Now, how bout we get to sleep, we gotta leave tomorrow." She nodded and laid next to the fire. Luke laying nearby. It took a few minutes but she finally fell asleep.
