"Oh, Wanda, you are the greatest, really." Douglas and his girlfriend, Wanda sat on the side walk in front of his house, enjoying each other's embrace. His goofy smile lit up his face and made his ears wiggle slightly.

Wanda giggled. "I just love it when your ears dance when you smile. It's so adorable." She leaned in and started kissing his neck, making him curl up with exhilaration. She paused for a second. "Oh, since this is a Saturday, and your parents aren't home, why don't we sneak a few sips from your dad's liquor?"

Douglas scoffed in disbelief. "Are you serious? Just because I'm a doctor doesn't give me a pass to drink. I'm still a teenager. If we got caught, I could lose not only my parents' trust, but also my license. I could lose my job."

"Oh please. Live once in a while. Everyone does it. You've gotta loosen up. Please? For me?" Wanda's sweet breath against his temple sent a tickle down to his toes. He couldn't handle her power, the strong pull she had on him. She knew just how to get what she wanted.

"Okay, fine, but just one drink each...Come on then." Douglas led his stunning girlfriend into his house and into his father's stash of dry wines and expensive liquors. He put his finger over his mouth and shushed her. "Be very careful."

"We're the only ones in here, Doogie. We're fine." Her smile made him forget his better judgment.

He shrugged. "Okay." He then took the antique crystal glasses from the top of the cabinet along with the equally-as-fragile crystal container holding the brandy. Not knowing the first thing about alcoholic quantities (or perhaps forgetting the long spiel his father told him about it), he filled each eight ounce glass to the brim.

"Whoa there, that's quite a bit, but why not? We could just stay here for a while and sleep it off." Wanda took her portion and gulped it down feverishly. Before Douglas even had a sip, she was already expecting more. "Uh, more please." Her big brown eyes Douglas simply couldn't resist.

"Okay, but just one more. Slow down maybe." He complied with his girlfriend's demands and poured another full glass for her. He then drank his portion down inside of three seconds.

"Well, look at you, being a rebel. It's fun, huh? To just let go and be free. That's what being young is about. Too bad this doctor thing makes you grow up too fast and lose touch with that side of you. I miss that side of you."

"I enjoy my job, what can I say? I can't help that." His face fell into a serious, flat expression. He hesitated. "Maybe I should stop, just in case-"

Wanda shushed him, placing her finger on his lips. "Don't worry about it. When you're with me, the world stops. Time stops. Remember?"

"Yeah, yeah...I almost forgot." Douglas's smile returned slightly, but he still couldn't completely let go of his doubts. He knew that if work called, he'd have to answer it or be in serious trouble, with both his boss and his dad, who happened to also be a doctor, and at the same hospital no less. In an effort to drown his worries away, he managed to drink two more eight ounce glasses of alcohol. Afterward, the pair decided to cuddle on the couch and perhaps even take a nap. Right when they found a comfortable position however, his pager went off.

"Shoot...Oh no..." Douglas groaned as he realized he needed to head to work.

"Something wrong, Doogie?"

"Yes, very wrong. I have to go in to work. It's an emergency."

Wanda scoffed. "Sure, everything is always an emergency with you."

"I'm sorry, but I have to go." He tried planting a goodbye kiss on her mouth, but she dodged it.

"Isn't that the fourth time this week you've had to blow me off? I'm getting real tired of this."
